Insanely loaded cast. Vaughn is doing some pretty familiar things in this if you watched his Kingsman movies, but this might be crazy enough to be entertaining.

Isn't this basically the same premise as the recent Sandra Bullock flick The Lost City?

It does, but those scenes might be deliberately shot like that since they're based in the in-universe books?

Yeah I get what you're saying but I'm thinking of something like Airplane! or what have you, where the fakeness is played for laughs. When the rest of the stuff looks real, and then they suddenly cut to this really fake stuff, it makes me thing "oh they couldn't make this work" and not "there's a reason for this".

I know it's something they have to do for trailers but I can't help but laugh at the wild dialogue edit stitching they do with Bryan Cranston's lines at 1:50ish. "I need her to write the next chapter...."

It's like they forgot to do the final render with the fur, cloth, particles, skin effects, panicked and released a test production render pass.

I know that “looks like a PS2-era cutscene” is a funny joke but the first thing that popped into my mind was Prince of Persia 3D. It’s like this movie was created before the invention of dynamic lighting?

I just remembered the best part of seeing Saw X in theaters: seeing the trailer for Silent Night, John Woo's first American movie in 20 years that's coming out in December. It looked sick as hell, & I can't even find it on YouTube yet. I'll be there day 1 to see that.

Interesting. It comes out in just two months. It also only took a month to shoot and has no dialogue?

I know nothing about the book. What am I supposed to glean from this trailer? I couldn't get any sense of what is going on. Ominous warnings followed by random weirdness with no obvious causal connection.
