Yesterday was my first real ‘heavy use’ day for the 15PM. I was on multiple Teams calls while switching over to Outlook to compose emails and multitask on some other things, all on cellular data. The phone was barely even warm and switching apps during a call was smooth and quick. Doing the 80% charging setting and before bed it was only down to around 45% - absolutely incredible. I adored my XR, but if I were doing the same it would have been stuttering and hiccuping switching between apps, gotten pretty hot, and forced me to plug in by noon. Really loving this phone

New iOS will solve the heat problem but won’t hurt performance, Apple says. I did think it was just a bug as they said. It would heat up for no apparent reason rather than just during intense things.

I know a guy who worked on the cases team and asked him this actual question a couple years back. he said they are definitely leather, but the complications are numerous. cases need to be thin and leather is only part of the construction. Iirc they used some formulation of alcantara on the other side. You’re never going to get high quality leather feel into a case that thin. At best you’re trying to convey like… the outer grain quality of decent leather. He swore that the leather quality, such that it can be appreciated on a phone case, was good. My iPhone 12 mini camera can’t focus in 1x mode. Works fine in 0.5x mode. I was taking pictures outside, twenty minutes later and it can’t focus anymore. Didn’t drop it or anything. No lens protectors on. Tried restarting, updating to iOS 17. Anyone else experience something like this?

Finally got more AmFilm glass protectors for my 15 pro but this time I did it in the bathroom after running a hot shower. Zero issues this time, perfect application and looks good. I still have AC+ but this is gonna be nice to have. I never break a phone but I always get those little scratches that aren't enough to justify getting it fixed, now I can just replace the protector once a year or so. Good poo poo.
