At least Ishida being weirdly fixated on porn-hating is still consistent; his one rock-hard, throbbing touchpoint throughout all these years.  "Porn is not something men like", just the weirdest loving take.  I'm pretty sure nobody from 4chan has ever seen the inside of a gym, Ishida. I find it funny that Tats is clearly on a toxic masculinity bender, complaining about soy beta males and how men aren't real men anymore and what have you, when his comic from 2011 through 2019 was all about grrrl power and dismantling the patriarchy with all of the finesse of a well-meaning college freshman who only skimmed the textbook for his Gender Studies 101 class. I know his ideological-180 is well-documented, but I still marvel at someone who was unironically saying "I'm not here to talk about history, I'm here to talk about herstory" 5 years ago telling you that if you don't lift weights, you're a beta cuck. Also, as a regular porn consumer, there's nothing I love more than to get a buddy, go down to the park, and loudly shout our search terms while looking it up on our phones, our faces rapt with glee. So he's got us there I guess

What I find most bizarre about Tatsuya is his work ethic. To go so insane but to update continuously without ever lapsing on effort in his art for 20+ years is an amusing and well deserved curse. You'd think he could sit down and tell a few stories that aren't screaming at internet clouds. He has this steady drive but he can only use it to piss into the 4chan ocean. He gets the occasional artist note in professional comics page, one I could google and one I saw in this thread, maybe he has a pen name, but it seems more his style to "preach truth" and die in a box apartment on the $200 a month he has on subscribe star. Maybe he banked and invested some cash back when Sinfest was popular enough to sell collected volumes. Tragic, but also pretty funny.

I recently found myself comparing Ishida to Dave Sim in that they both went insane in a way that completely trashes their ability to communicate with normal people, but they still have art skills they picked up before going off the deep end, which means that their work is competent on a technical level in a way that most monster raving loonies can't achieve.

Ishida’s art has not really evolved in over a decade, and has a lot of embarrassing errors like extra limbs where it’s clear he’s copy/pasting things like arms which is something he was known for not doing in the past (he drew each panel by hand no matter how similar they were). His art looks fine but he’s stagnant which is why he can only draw basically three body types for each gender.
