I always thought lungs were separate from the organs that count as offal, I guess that was just an assumption on my end.

pixaal posted:How gross are my lungs? Probably incredibly vile, lungs fill up with particulate very easily and in particular a lot of human environments have worse air than is healthy because of bad filtration/circulation. Sometimes this is because it's hard to avoid, sometimes it's just that fixing old systems to improve circulation/filtration costs more than no money so people in charge don't improve things without an arm being twisted somehow. ...Not to mention the average human has 70+ years to collect weird environmental sludge in their lungs vs an industrial sheep being lucky to see 10 years.

They can be washed, if you have a lot of money for doctors bills. Whole lung lavage has been done for decades.

You know how there's social media factories/warehouses with thousands of tiny booths and in each booth is some person shilling stuff out on YouTube etc, Maybe there's also a giant farm plot and every 20 metres square is some person making outdoor cooking on a rock, next to a stream etc And somewhere those wierd fake catch and cook videos with carp having eels pushed through their mouths, Mentos and coke being tossed down pre-made holes full of crabs, mini hydroelectric dams, etc etc

pixaal posted:should I stop breathing? How gross are my lungs? Think of it this way - in your esophagus, you've got air moving pretty fast and blasting things around. That same speed is divided when your lungs split into smaller airways, and split again, and again. At the end, the air is only moving just little bit. Get some schmutz to the end? Probably not coming out. Plus, think about how often you take a truly deep breath.

Poohs Packin posted:The countryside is covered in poop I've lived in farming country, I can confirm this. It is everywhere. I've often wondered why lamb is so much more expensive to buy in shops here than beef. Most of it is shipped to France. It's because the local farmers don't want to eat it. They spend all day around them, tramping through dung, shearing them, dipping them, getting pissed on by them. Then they come home, hose the poo poo off their boots and throw their clothes in the wash. Would you want to sit down to a plate of lamb chops? I noticed the same thing when I watched Rick Stein on TV. He came walking out of a seaside cafe with a dejected look on his face. He asked for a piece of fried fish and the cafe owner said "I'm sorry, we don't serve fish. This is a fishermans cafe." I've never noticed this with beef though. Probably because beef tastes a lot different than how a cow smells. Cows aren't pretty either. I've seen them lining up for the cattle crush, lift their tails and then spray dung directly on to the snout of the cow behind it.
