Also the price point of the Apple-CPU laptops has dropped to where they're directly comparable to non-cheapo Intel/AMD laptops and it's much superior equipment.

it's funny how Linux has gotten way worse since the last time I seriously used it back in college. it's probably because back then they were pretending it was going to be for everyone and now they know it's only for freaks

Last Chance posted:so 20 years yea I guess, maybe 15, but until the past couple years Apple hardware has compared to Intel/AMD stuff as very much more expensive, but since a couple years ago at comparable quality levels it's really not a price thing. Funny fact is that in the Intel world high-end stuff (not gamer things, stuff like the Lenovo Carbon) is really focused on being super light, while the MacBook Pro weighs a ton. (I have an X1 Carbon also, from 2021 I guess? 9th gen) (running Linux)
