They’re trying to force the Twins manager to substitute the lefties out. Also Berrios gets notably worse as he goes through the lineup, historically.

the Twins have a lefty heavy lineup and now he can punish it, in theory, because if the Twins pinch hit for them (something baldelli has been very aggressive with all season when this happens) they won't have anyone left on their bench for late game pinch hitting
