Gonna be completely sincere here; since about 16 I've been aware of the hosed up poo poo we support in Israel, and it's been a major contributor to my political depression & personal guilt for being within the center of the empire that condones & protects it. I'd completely internalized that, even though Israel is demonstrably awful at ground invasions, they were so adept at serving as camp guards that nothing like this could ever happen. Even if this is a failure, even if Hamas is repelled, it sends an incredible message; Israel's victory is not assured. It is vulnerable, and it can bleed.

Will be interesting to see how Abbas reacts to this; I doubt he wants to upset his sugardaddy, but at the same time if he does literally nothing & says literally nothing at a time where Palestine is suddenly making lightning fast gains on people who have terrorized the West Bank for decades...I don't see how he doesn't get thrown off a roof outside of shooting every angry person (and the group that usually helps them with that is a little preoccupied right now). My guess is that he waits a day to see if it peters out, and then delivers a VERY stern condemnation of Israel. Keep this up buster and we might just consult the ICC!
