My guess is cancelling insurance for having a back yard full of an unreasonable amount of flammable fuel. Or it might just be a lie.

My base-model, no tach on a manual, cheapest you could buy Orkin truck '99 Ranger Sport has a loving transponder and steering column immobilizer, the latter of which prevented it from being stolen when some methhead cored out the ignition and seized the whole column at work a year ago. To be clear, there is no "USB connector", there's a physical piece of stubby metal that a USB A type cable can be slotted over and used to turn it.

When I had a car it didn't have an immobilizer but that just meant the insurance company wouldn't cover theft. Are they refusing to touch Hyundais at all, even for liability insurance?

If you have a car without an immobilizer but it's not widespread knowledge the last 12 years of your car brand are vulnerable, you are less likely, on average, to be hosed with. they bet money on this.

I can't believe people are still posting random youtube links without saying what the video is about (The Design Flaw That Made Hyundais Absurdly Easy to Steal.) That's one thing that's been consistently lovely since youtube was started at least.

Craigslist used to have separate search results for stuff listed nearby and an expanded search for a wider area if there weren't many results. Now it just shuffles them all together. Facebook marketplace too. Why. Im not going to drive to Seattle to buy an overdrive pedal, don't show me these results you dicks. Also people have just started writing SOLD! on their ads instead of deleting them. This is incredibly irritating and is also somehow more effort than just using the goddamn delete key. Craigslist has always been kind of a poo poo show but apparently it can get worse

Where are the chill amber lights... The USB-C cable that came with my work laptop has a little indicator light that is bright enough to read a book by from across the room and took three layers of electrical tape to cover enough to be able to sleep at night. Even with the tape I can still see the light on underneath.

Where are the chill amber lights... I hate blue LEDs so much, my retro computer has one of the last beige cases ever made so they put a newfangled blue LED on it that is searingly bright and harsh Reverse example: My Samsung Galaxy A50 broke so I recently got a Google Pixel 5 which has one of the old style rear fingerprint readers and it is vastly better than the "modern" in-screen reader of the Samsung

YouTube now adds poo poo to your watch history, and thus affects your recommendations, for video thumbnails you hover over for more than a second. Went to find a video I watched a few days ago and couldn't remember the name of and my watch history is literally >50% poo poo I've not actually watched.

is youtube's search also gotten lovely recently? I'm on a user's or channel's page, and try searching and I get stuff that isnt them.

It also counts toward how much of the video you've watched, so I'll click on a video in my subscription feed that looks interesting and it'll start 45 seconds in even if I've never watched it before.

Does Facebook Marketplace's search radius actually work for anyone? It doesn't for me. If I ask it to find me something within ten miles from me it'll still mostly just list things from the other side of the country that will ship to my radius.

You can turn off the hover playback in the settings but you have to do it per-device for some asinine reason. It's "Inline playback" under "Playback and performance".

I'm terrified to search for anything on youtube that's not incredibly specific because after like 5 videos related to your search, it'll just shunt a ton of poo poo including ads. This would only be annoying except they once showed me this promoted video ad for ... i dont know skin care or some poo poo that was just a forehead with a bunch of loving holes in it and I have mad trypophobia.

The burrito place that's been my go to for years has decided that shrinkflation is the way to combat delivery issues. I get the same goddamn combo every time. For years. Now the entree, my burrito, is the same. But the sides I ordered were a couple bucks more than a few months ago and... lacking. Extra order of chips? Here's your singular extra chip. Order of guacamole? Here's a tablespoon. That's worth five goddamn dollars, right? I sympathize that delivery services suck. I sympathize that raw materials are more expensive. I really am not enjoying this "new normal." Not at all.
