I still don't judge the whole BnR era, I even registered a profile there just in case, because it was a time where those of us with certain forum drama instincts entirely expected to log in one day and find a 404 error. That of course doesn't make it less lol. Or this less incomprehensible.

I mean, I can see why you might think "hey, this is a forum where people like to post, maybe some of them might enjoy my forum too?" and consider that worth however much it costs to buy an external banner ad these days. It doesn't look secretly racist or anything, just very slow and boring. (Admittedly, I didn't look too closely, so maybe I missed the Turner Diaries RP subforum.)

i had a really epic redtext before i got banned that was a picture of a lotr orc with the text like "ASK ME ABOUT KNOWING loving NOTHING ABOUT LORD OF THE RINGS" because i posted a thread in gbs asking why elrond didnt just push isildur into the lava at mount doom

I received a red text avatar shortly before the 2020 US election with a picture of Donald Trump and some very angry text that I don't remember the exact wording of, but I do remember it accused me of sticking Pepsi cans up my butt. I don't politics-post so I have no idea what bought that on or where it could have come from...
