I’ve gone through like four switch joycons in four years. But my switch pro controller has survived many many games on switch AND pc. So it’s impossible to tell if Nintendo is good or not.

i remember seeing footage for that, though it seems to be leaning more towards an FPS deal some kind of outlast thing would be absolutely killer with this style, and it probably wouldn't be too difficult to put together and sell with how popular liminal spaces still are

This one has potential but it loses me when it shows the monsters. I've never liked the intersection of backrooms and "oh there's a monster here too" but also the monsters look kinda bad and it undermines what the rest of the game is doing graphically lmao

the monster in that thing specifically looks like a first year animation project, and nothing will rip you right out of the horror headspace faster than a unity asset rounding the corner it's funny because, as the video i posted above shows, you don't need some big ol' teeth and eyeballs thing chasing after you to generate a sense of absolute gutwrenching terror

I mean, like it or not, it has become a not insignificant subset of liminal space horror at this point. The Backrooms has like levels and poo poo now, it's a video game. Horror is when video games and lore.

i believe the backrooms having a bunch of themed sonic the hedgehog levels was a pre-kane pixels innovation that got stapled onto the growing genre after his original short exploded in popularity a dreamlike dimension with monsters isn't, like, bad as a concept, and there's been some good quality videos out there that run with the idea well, but it ultimately tends to reduce the experience of abject, crushing loneliness in an inescapable labyrinth into a more psychedelic haunted house ride where you're wondering which manila yellow corner the abstract backrooms gremlin is going to pop out of in the last 20 seconds of the video
