I represent the Philippines
Haven't worked on a big one in a while; about halfway through I got really frustrated with what I had, and I ended up cutting out more than half the painting (this used to be inside a castle, with a lot of foreground elements) then using those to make a whole other painting that won't take me nearly as long to produce.

I will be making templates on all doodle pages from now on. This feels way better. (Eventually I will manage to make clean frame lines.)

:hai: it's an easy way to class up any drawing!

i use my template as an underlay, and just make dots at the corners and connect them (with a triangle). it keeps them pretty clean.

I really struggled with this one. Turned out more impressionistic than I was aiming, partly because I'm still learning to control the paint and don't know what I'm doing, but maybe also my brushes are cheap and not good for details at all.
Don't care for it overall, but parts of it I like, I guess.

Thank you, I appreciate it! I'm probably just being hard on myself. I'll get there with more practice and work. Hopefully you're finally getting some sleep, now that you finished your VN!

The blue and tan really contrast well in this one! Your placement of them also work well, and gives it a nice three dimensionality.

50 pages left of the sketchbook to fill before the year is over, making good progress! I'm thinking next year should be the year of finished pieces and not just sketching/doodling in my sketchbook

Borders are better.

My borderless sketch that I did today. :D

In all seriousness, I think drawing within borders like you folks are doing is great. Like you said before, it does class up a drawing. But it also helps you to think a bit more about composition and placement when drawing. It does for me, at least.

i like establishing a border for the same reason -- i have to be more intentional on the composition and layout, but ultimately i just really like filling in a space. it's fun!

sorry, i meant the drawing before looked like teeth!

this one is closer to typical industrial design marker rendering, albeit not as clean as it could be.

Nice work here.

Here is a midnight joker for the prompt "Fortune". Was supposed to be a joker playing card but I gotta fix the bass. It's far too small. Especially the neck.
