Orange Mio and vanilla Smirnoff creates an alcoholic creamsicle for the budget conscious drunk. If you feel fancy mix it with some Sprite Zero for the bubbles!

You don't cook with lovely wine, you don't make drinks with lovely liquor, you don't use lovely champagne for mimosas. I've cut back so much on my drinking I can afford to drink good stuff when I do anyways.

See this is some barracks rear end poo poo, like running cheap vodka through a brita water filter once or twice so it goes down easier, bottle and filter was still cheaper than the good stuff and it worked damnit.0

LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY AS IT'S INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT!
Dumb question- if an Army soldier gains a Combat Infantry Badge, then transfers service to the Navy/Marines, on his new Navy/Marine uniforms does that turn into a CAR, or stay a CIB, or he just doesn't get to wear it?

I saw that sailors or Marines that get awarded the CIB get to turn it into a CAR, but this is a case of someone earning it while a soldier and then later becoming a sailor/Marine

They tried to do that with FC's for a long time. They called it master/journeyman/apprentice and the idea was you'd get more technical training the longer you were in because the Navy was sick of losing FC/FCA's after one enlistment. It never happened though.

It is with deep sorrow that I inform you that they did in fact implement this around 2020.

My 30secs of research came up with a MARADMIN message from 2013 - REVISED ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR AWARD OF THE COMBAT ACTION RIBBON (CAR) AND UPDATED COORDINATING INSTRUCTIONS

quote:

(5) NAVY AND MARINE CORPS PERSONNEL WHO, WHILE FORMERLY MEMBERS OF THE U.S. ARMY OR U.S. AIR FORCE, WERE AWARDED THE CIB OR CMB, MAY UPON SUBMISSION OF OFFICIAL MILITARY DOCUMENTATION TO THEIR COMMANDING OFFICER, BE AUTHORIZED TO WEAR THE CAR ON THEIR NAVY/MARINE CORPS UNIFORM IN PLACE OF THE CIB/CMB.

Yeah it's the above. There's former combat arms Seabees with CARs wandering around the NCF. Incidentally the guys I met left the NCF to go to ships and be real Sailors, a testament to the allure of The Sea (and how toxic and dumb the NCF is)

John Paul Jones was also the first navy skipper to be poo poo canned due to a negative command climate survey (the Ranger threatened a mutiny of he was put back in charge).

I don’t know the numbers here but I feel like the flow goes the other way. The army has such a need for bodies that marines end up in the army, but I can’t only think of one person in my experience who was former army who was in the navy.

There's a guy in the unit down the hall that started Army and went Marines because he couldn't go on deployment often enough. Marines wouldn't keep him overseas enough, either, so he joined the Navy Reserve to just Keep Going On MOB with whatever seabee unit is going out now.

He plans on retiring at 38 with so much money in the bank he'll never work again. Apparently being overseas from 18-38 doing Army/Marine/Seabee stuff is worth it.
