That should be explained in Apotheosis's book, but it'll be the same color affixed equipment.

edit: Oh, it should just say in the tooltip in JEI, Rarity Material (Rare).

I need some basics on Apotheosis. I think those come from crushing Apotheosis gems under an anvil?

There's no guarantee it will happen, of course.

Oh, I see. I read your post as saying that the launcher would soon be taken down by Microsoft or Mojang for not doing a license check, and that you were switching launchers preemptively so you would not be inconvenienced when this happens. I see now that was quite the leap of logic.

Are there normally ways to get this equipment in stuff like skyblock packs? Among all the loot stuff I've found, I had just one that produced the right crystals, yet here I have a quest expecting 32. Mob farms don't seem to make the stuff.

No idea, Apothic Bosses just spawn randomly, or sometimes generate as special monster spawners that only produce one mob in the dungeon.

FYI for anyone using PolyMC still for some godawful reason -- they removed the check for whether or not you have a legal version of minecraft, so it's effectively a pirate launcher now. Recommend moving to https://prismlauncher.org/ , which is also a multimc clone. As a bonus, it takes care of configuring the patches needed to run GTNH on java 17+ for you, which is handy.

On Steam Deck, Mine Together and Essential, both ways to do multiplayer without a server host, just don't work in GDLauncher.
Prism is the way to go, but as of 7.x it doesn't have FTB modpacks anymore.
For our specific use case, I had to get the last Prism 6.x and copy over a jdk folder because it wouldn't get or auto-detect one correctly.
Something about the default settings or this configuration makes certain menus crash where they didn't in GDL, for example the Minecolonies menu when you're picking a different building theme. Higher resolution makes it less crashy, but I'm still not as happy with Prism as I was with GDL. Tried to get the settings between the two 1:1, but either I'm overlooking something or it just isn't as stable for this version or setup.

People in the Discords for Essential and Prism we're both jerkasses about it.

Something that never really was talked about on here are FPS mods for Minecraft. I don't think it's really anybody's jam and all but I see them come up here and there. It makes me wonder what other stuff is out there that us uncommon but played by some folks. I exclude porno because we know that's a thing by default.

I'd wonder what kind of funny mutt-donkey one could make throwing a bunch of that together and try to make it coherent. Like, villagers and pillagers getting into artillery-backed firefights under a blood moon or something.

Is there a mystical agriculture setting I can't find that affects which crops can drop duplicate seeds? I've duplicated tons of diamond and iron seeds, but spending hours and even wasting some fertilizer on them I haven't managed to duplicate one experience or redstone seed. They're on the correct tier of farmland for the seed, and I'm getting the extra essence drops from them, just not extra seeds.

Last I checked the setting was on/off for the entire mod. Can you set up some sort of way to automatically harvest them and put them in some kind of storage?

I've had a MA harvester running on them for days, on the same plot as the diamond and iron seeds. Good amount of essence, no extra redstone/experience seeds. This is happening regardless of whether I use the harvester or manually harvest.

(I had just taken the diamond stuff out but there were seeds and essence.)

Also encountering another issue, which could be any mod so I have no idea where to start looking for a solution - every time I go through a portal, it makes a new portal. This is happening on both sides no matter which portal I go through.

I am trying All The Fabric 6 to see what's going on with Fabric. Is that an up-to-date Fabric megapack? It feels like a pretty sparse experience. It could be that I just don't know what is all there. I was surprised particularly that there isn't any kind of tool mod like Tinkers' Construct or Tetra. Is there just not one for Fabric?

Iron also just seems oddly sparse. Is there a new, special Y level for iron? I have gone down to bed rock and in all the areas I have scraped in between, I have something like 10x the copper as I have for iron. It is nowhere enough to do any tech.

A fun one is the new sound effects stuff. It sounds like a horror movie soundtrack when I am caving.

Prism 6.3 still has the FTB download so you could always run that. Or just use the 6.3 copy to download and move the folder over to the newer version.

I'm sure the more coding inclined could also re-add the feature as it's all open source.

Assuming mods haven't messed with vanilla ore generation, in the latest versions you want to go higher up in mountains for the most iron, or find large iron veins around y=0.

There was a mod that was in a few modpacks a long time ago that added ore generation statistics to the recipe list so you could see where to mine for certain ores, but I can't remember what it was called.

I tried the Direwolf pack through Prism 6.3, problem was that (the best I can figure) they have started switching over to Neoforge which Prism does not support (yet).
So it installed the latest DW20 modpack without any forge. Tried installing different versions of forge through prism but it would only ever launch vanilla minecraft.

Should be a mod like “just enough resources” or something with resource in the name depending on the version which tells you the best y levels. Recent versions usually put iron around y 14 since the better stuff moved to negative y values like -56 for diamonds.

They way you're supposed to get iron in unmodded Minecraft is finding an iron vein (tuff with blocks of raw iron) and then following that wherever it goes. Naturally, everybody psychologically tortures the Jewish stereotypes for infinite golems instead, because that's easier.

Iron veins are actually viable in modded Minecraft because you can e.g. drink an IronSight potion (or turn them into IronSight charms) and then vein mine your way through the iron vein with your jetpack.

I've found it's easier to get iron by going to the Twilight Forest and digging out a few hollow hills with a Fortune 15 pick.

Without doing any research or testing, Piipez might not given the way that it works, Mekanism almost certainly does, and I'm not sure about Refined Storage.

If you have controllable chunk loading and the inifinite distance wireless refined storage mod, you could rig up a simple test with three chunks, two of them chunkloaded. i.e. set up a PIpez moving items from chunk 1 to chunk 3, a Mekanism logistical transport from chunk 1 to chunk 3, and a Refined Storage in chunk 1 attached to storage in chunk 3, and then travel far enough to unload chunmk 2 and observe how the RS inventory behaves wirelessly. Refined Storage also has some slash commands that will let you look at the state of the network, you can see the number of attached nodes.

I was going to hurr derp that this isn't in Fabric, but apparently it is now. I guess it just isn't in the pack.

I switched to All The Fabric 7 last night. No quest book at all, which is not really much of a deal since the version 6 book mostly just blasted out a bunch of stuff to make without much of a progression. It doesn't help me in getting over the initial start hump. It's just oddly slow going!

Honestly I'm not sure why I didn't just go into creative to test this. I did find something kinda interesting

For one, my chests are *just* outside of the bottom claimed chunk, but both pipez and mekanism pipes are taking from them and depositing into the refined storage system. And I am very far away from these chunks.

Are those chunks force loaded? That looks like a FTB Chunks map, and force loaded chunks have diagonal slashes through them.

How close are those chunks to the spawn chunk? They may be permanently loaded.

They are, there is 2 versions of the map, one that is super zoomed in that you can't move that will show the crossed lines, then the other wont show the lines but you can move it around. As for the spawn it seems to be about 20 chunks away. If that is in the radius of always being loaded then that is good actually, because my base is even closer to the spawnpoint.

pseudorandom name

https://minecraft.wiki/wiki/Spawn_chunk

There's a 19x19 chunk area centered on the spawn chunk that gets full entity ticking, the 21x21 border gets server ticks but not entity or chunk ticks, and the 23x23 border is loaded but doesn't get any ticks.

In my experience it is better to either build entirely within the 19x19 area or entirely outside the 23x23 area, the half-limbo chunks can cause weirdness. In particular, I think that stuff that's getting ticked can access inventories in the loaded-but-not-ticked chunks, but machines in the loaded-but-not-ticked chunks aren't functional.

And if you do build inside the 19x19 area, you run the risk of some runaway automated process creating a million entities and lagging out the server.

These nether portals are driving me crazy. Started a new world and had the same problem with the portal after one use. I broke all the portals on both sides except for the one I want in my house, and then built a fresh portal on the nether side at the appropriate coordinates, and it still made a new portal 5 blocks over from the other one. I really want to do some stuff with create trains and portals in this game, but if the portals aren't linking I'm not sure what's going to happen.

Curse is the go-to place where all the mods are hosted, but it's owned by Overwolf so the software to actually download and manage mods is really poo poo. The current best manager is PrismLauncher which can download mod packs and will give you links to the mods that don't work with it. However some of the big packs seem to have split into their own launchers but I can't remember which ones off the top of my head :v: someone will probably know. What kind of gameplay are you looking for?
