Ryan Satin's father was Scott Satin, a television producer who passed away earlier this year. Without trying to get too deep into the psyche of any member of the Satin family too deeply, the impression from Satin's public comments really boil down to: 1. Scott Satin loved television, worked in television for decades, but either couldn't break out of or never wanted to break out of doing game shows, lowbrow reality competition/prank shows, etc. 2. Ryan Satin also loved television and got to go to TV sets and meet TV stars through his dad, who got Ryan his first PA gigs on shows his dad worked on, which led to more reality show PA gigs, which led to working as a producer for TMZ, which led to working for WWE. Ryan Satin pretty obviously has aspirations to work in Prestigious Scripted Television, and has expressed as much. If I had to guess, his father sort of pushed him in the direction "hey, it's a steady job doing this wrestling stuff, don't throw it away" based on his own career trajectory.
