In this case, Hamas became a real threat, did violence, and now Netanyahu has air cover from every white country to push all the Palestinians into the sea. So in hindsight it was only a dumb plan if killing hundreds of thousands of innocent Palestinians is something Bibi was actually interested in avoiding

After listening to the MSNBC shows tonight It seems pretty clear that Israel could wipe out all 2 million Palestinians and the West will still cheer them on and condemn anyone who attempts to point out how evil this act is. I don't think Israel will stop at this point, and no one in the West will stop them. We can only hope that all these people cheering on the genocide of the Palestinian people face God's judgement one day, because clearly there will be no justice in our lifetimes.

What's supposed to happen is that a CVN's longer time-on-station means you need fewer of them to be able to maintain a round-the-clock carrier presence on any given hotspot - say, only three where you might have needed five-or-six oil-burning carriers on rotation, but the USN afaik does not have that many carriers to spare.
