I've forgotten to press the record button several times and have only realised after the session has ended. I've also recorded some videos with the mic muted and others in the wrong resolution a few times.

Talking about lost footage, I've just recorded a half-hour video and OBS didn't record the mouse cursor even though the setting is switched on.

Which makes sense; not like forum posts are style heavy either. what I was investigating was kicking base font size up from 14px and whether or not wider images could go in easily, and the answers seemed to be "sure" and "I'd want to ask baldurk some questions about how content is imported" at which point I didn't pursue it. nobody's asked me to update the archive, baldurk does not know or care about my opinion, I was just looking out of curiosity. I'm thinking of doing an LP, but don't want to deal with cropping images down to size too much, but I would like to host it on LPix, and thus need to keep image size down a bit. I'd like some feedback on what people consider acceptably readable. Here's the original png screenshot [cropped to remove pillarboxes only] (too big at 2.3 Mb):  Here's a few alternatives, with some unsharp mask applied:  PNG, resized to 1080, about 1.6 Mb  JPEG, resized to 1080, about 470 kb  PNG, resized to 960, about 1.3 Mb I'm also considering having some shots (where text matters) be in one format, and most others not, but do people think it'd be too noticeable to switch formats/quality like that?

I think the smaller shots, even the smallest, look fine. As for "where text matters," if you're thinking of shots where only the text matters, I'd definitely say crop those down to just the text.

One thing to keep in mind with screenshots is that the reader doesn't necessarily know which part of the game you're trying to highlight. Sometimes it's obvious, but if you expect them to notice something small, like a single text message or some visuals off in a corner, then you'll want to call that out specifically, either via cropping or by mentioning it in the text of your post.

Yeah, I think it was down to going with JPEG vs a smaller PNG. I can see a difference if I look closely but the JPEG is a significantly smaller file size, and I think I'll go with it (960-px JPEG isn't enough of a difference in file size to matter, which is why I didn't include it). As for cropping, part of the reason I want to check is that doing all the cropping on an LP is a significant time investment, and to do what I want to do with this, I'd rather work on selecting shots and using text. So most stuff will remain full-size. It's already one where I'll need to summarize & describe a lot of what happens, otherwise it'll never even get started.

Keep in mind that while LPix just wants less than 2MB, the LP Archive has a cap of 900px wide if you want it archived after you're done.

Who cares??? If someone decides to not add a text description to a new lp announcement and people decide not to click on it because of that, that's their loss, right? As long as people don't do stuff that's not allowed such as porn games, let them be. You're not legally required to interact with them.
