Demons are all about living it up and having a good time doing all the stuff people enjoy doing. Angels are absolutely the ones making ads. They work for Big Christian proselytizing, which is just advertising for their religion. They also work for God and one of his ten biggest rules is "don't make ads of any other gods who aren't me." Officially Adam and Eve were kicked out of Eden because of the whole eating fruit from tree of knowledge thing... But scuttlebutt is they were actually kicked out for installing an AdBlocker that Lucifer offered them.

Every now and then, I'll watch YouTube on my phone or somewhere else without ad blockers or sponsorskip. Every video is something like 25 percent ads. It's a joke. Vivaldi is a good Chromium based mobile browser with ad blocking already build in. Never seen a YT ad while using it. Firefox mobile was somewhat of a trash fire a year or two ago when I tried it last. Very slow and buggy. Dunno how much it has improved since then.

If you get Firefox nightly on Android you can install almost any add-on that works on the desktop version. ublock works perfectly on that one. The iOS version is still rear end though and the only way to block ads is to use Safari and one of 3 awful paid ad blocking apps.

Nebula is basically youtube premium as far as I know, meaning things don’t get demonetized because you don’t need ad dollars

I like how the new corporate web is just taking things that the internet already had, for free, and selling them back to you. Ad-free music? Winamp and I know this is pretty much but poo poo, the corporate internet sucks rear end and I hope it dies in regulatory/antitrust/literal hellfire.

YouTube accepting scam ads and doing nothing to moderate their advertising platform for scams is one of the reasons I started using an ad blocker in the first place. I feel I have a legal right to protect myself from the scams they're attempting to perpetuate.

In my 40 years on this earth, and a relatively early adopter of the internet in 1995 or so at the age of 12, I have never... in my entire life... purposely clicked on any sort of internet ad. It's impossible to say that ads don't affect me because you hear TV and all sorts of commercials on media in the background or maybe some new product from Wendy's is out that I might check out in a month when I think about it but I never purposely click on an ad. IF I by chance accidentally see an ad for something I might be interested in, I search for it. I will not click on the ad. On FB and Twitter and all of that poo poo my eyes seem to subconsciously and automatically scan for the words that make me scroll past any sort of ad (Ad, promotion, sponsored, etc). It's just loving white noise that is extremely annoying and has no appreciable affect on me for their means. gently caress google (yes, I probably use 10 google products daily including this browser which I might have to end up ditching after 13 years). Whenever some corporation squeezes down on people for dumb poo poo, innovators seem to come out and fight back to circumvent their garbage. Hopefully it continues.

I did actually watch some actual cable tv a while ago and caught an and for Burger King. They brought back the jingle from when I was a kid and I kinda wanted to go there despite the fact I really hate their food. I am not immune and I feel like a disgusting animal because of it.

I remember more commercial jingles from childhood for products and toys I never got asked for or wanted than a number high enough to appropriately convey too many.

Youtube gets to serve you poo poo ads, then shrug and say "whoopsiedoodle, that was a scam/malware, you're out of luck, not our fault." If Youtube wants to serve ads, host them directly on the youtube domain, then they can tell us not to block them--when they're directly liable for bad ads. As long as they want to serve poo poo ads from a third party CDN and avoid liability the whole time, they don't get the privilege of telling people to leave their computer unprotected
