Yeah, it's them using agreed-upon societal ills as a method of laundering their nastier opinions to being somewhat socially-acceptable to air in public, as well as giving them an instant turnaround emotion-spiking accusation to shut down all debate. No sane person is pro-pedophile, so if you frame your moral crusade as being against pedophilia, people are more likely to shrug their shoulders and think that your heart is in the right place. Then, once you start saying that the queers shouldn't be around kids and float the idea of trans genocide, if anyone has any objections, you can point at them and say "what are you, some sort of pedophile?!" in a loud voice. Boom, they shut up, which means you win. It doesn't actually have much to do with being against pedophilia at the end of the day, it's just a rhetorical means to an end. You see the same thing with human trafficking. Nobody's for human trafficking, but if you let someone in the #savethechildren movement have the mic for longer than 5 minutes, you're either going to get an urgent plea to Build the Wall or a battle cry to save the Mole Children from the satanic government's underground adrenochrome factories. Something tells me it's not actually about stopping human trafficking.
