The worst movie I've seen recently is Return of the Living Dead Part 2, but mostly because ROTLD is so good and they did all the wrong things for part 2

Edit: Actually the worst movie I watched this month is Jeruzalem, but that was just bad bad, not disappointing bad

The Beach Girls and the Monster, Creature from the Haunted Sea, and The Horror of Party Beach are tied for my lowest, but I also think I was being far too harsh on them. I think I was watching a lot of beach-adjacent horror at the time and was very grumpy at how little beach fun was to be had in these.

At least The Horror of Party Beach has a good MST3K episode

a glance at letterboxd has my three lowest rated horror movies as Slenderman, Rings, and Jack's Back. but i only started logging stuff on letterboxd a few years ago and i've been watching lovely horror movies for way longer than that.

Unsullied for me, which I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone else discuss over the years.

It’s like a former NFL player got funding to make a revenge movie with 0 previous film making experience. Oh wait, that’s exactly what it is.

There should be some qualifiers for worst horror movie, since there are tons of movies out there that barely qualify as movies

So like, what's the worst horror movie that was released to more than 100 theaters?

The last seven minutes of Beware: Children At Play is one of the most insane things I've ever seen put to film. The preceding hour and twenty-five before it are dreadfully dull, but that last scene before the end credits just decides to go full Looney Tunes and have a swarm of adults flat-out murder a bunch of kids. I debated making a bunch of gifs from it to post, but if you can think of a cartoon way for a hillbilly to kill a kid, there's a good chance they do something similar in the last few minutes of this movie. What the absolute gently caress, lmao

Wait, poo poo, no, of course the worst film I've seen is Megan is Missing. I like to think I've got a decent tolerance to bad taste, but that movie is so loving terrible that I'm happy to count just how loving edgelord it is against it too.

I feel like this is one of those conundrums of like, "is it worse for something to be egregiously terrible and unpleasant, or is it worse to be forgettable and mediocre." Megan is Missing is without question in the first category, but I might put it over the tier of lovely movie that immediately vanishes from memory after the credits roll.
