I tend to take my Mining runs slow so I've had little issue with maximizing pickaxe power and just spending the 20 gems every time I need a big damage jump and can't reasonably afford more crafting power.

Yeah, my general theory about approaching mining is to get crafting power up to a point where even the worst outcome would be 5-10% stronger than my current pickaxe then just hit the gem upgrade button. Once you've got a good stack of cheevos to boost gem production it's really not a bad investment of gems.

What loadout are you guys using for horde levels 58+? Best I've found is:

Normal level guys: Shirt, Meat Shield, Camp Fire, Toxic Sword, Club
Boss: Shirt (or Guardian angle if active is up), Meat Shield, Snowflake, Toxic Sword, Toxin

Just gotta hope the active regens can keep up with the damage long enough to pull through.

Swap meat shield for marble pillar if you get a magic conversion sigil.

I got final fantasy elixir syndrome with those gems. Figure i want to use them for the 400->full prestige currency dump on either village or horde someday if I need a push over a certain line.

There's a general quest for reaching 100 mining with only five pickaxes, and I can definitely imagine the gem investments being key to making that feasible.

Yeah. However I'm not blowing it on general mining progression imo.

Personally, I feel like mining is tied with farm for least engaging mechanic right now. I like the village and horde far more.

I might just be stuck. I think I hit 61 mining, and have a few prestige currencies I can cash out. Only prestiged Village and Mining once, though. Farm and Horde I think are still on the first runs.

Do I reset? Or go for relics for the basic stuff first.

I've got 3 of 8 treasures for something other than farming. Also while we're on the topic I wish the treasure icons at least mirrored which feature they affect for at-a-glance knowledge. A "tag" is boosting my flowers? A spear is helping out for grain?

Are you keeping the Red Staff up while waiting for your corrupted flesh to build? That provides a stackable 10% attack buff that lasts until rebirth. It’s on a 45 minute cooldown, but extra charges build up at a reduced rate now. Also adds some first strike to make grinding a little bit better.

I like Star Shield (the division shield thing) for when I'm doing the highest level and things don't just instantly die. Then pretty much just pure damage for the rest of it: Red Staff, Wizard Hat, Toxic Sword, Club if it's unlocked. Maybe Liver if I'm not having a hard time for some extra equipment levels / pushing Monster Bag. It's usually tough bosses that cause me to decide to prestige, not the normal guys. I got to a boss that would basically 3 shot my health bar regardless of what equipment I had on, and it had the anti-stun sigil and a sigil that added like 25 division shield, so no boss reset combination was favorable to me.

How are you making so much food?

Village: Once you get enough of the Gold upgrades (where gold costs are in the millions) and enough levels of Processing, it starts to actually tick up. I had 3 levels of Church Tax (Prestige upgrade, before realizing it did nothing) and it started ticking up. However, when you get to the point where you make enough food to surpass your tax rate, you're probably hitting the gold cap on the upgrades anyway.

At my point of the game, I'm actually finding the Metal cap to be an issue. Storage, Forge, Holy Metal (Prestige), Aquarium, and Obelisk are the only ways to raise it (maybe more that I'm not mentioning), while Plant/Wood/Stone you can get up in a number of ways, and they go up a bit each time from Offering.

Mining: I'm up to level 90 upgrade, still haven't gotten Max Depth 15 upgrade yet. Having a tough time deciding what to spend the limited prestige currency on. Rare Earth would decrease the time I wait for Salt and Granite, but I'm currently getting stopped by lack of Tin and Iron expansion. I don't really want to invest too much in Tin capacity, but Iron capacity is so expensive. I also probably need more Max Dweller Depth if I want to reach Max 15. On the other hand I could ignore all that and go for more scrap gain, but right now my Salt income dries up after level 79 since there's always at least 2 ores.

Horde: I assume Ash Circle is level 61, I really miss it and I recently got up to 60 but had to prestige due to the boss doing way too much damage.

Ironwood RPG: It says Gold Scythe can equip 2 runes, but I only seem to be able to equip one. Am I missing something?

It might look greyed out but the offhand rune slot should work with a 2H item equipped.

You gain Topaz at the same rate as the other gems. Just not during 'large events' like the Night Hunt. I did the Bingo twice and got a 2.44x Attack treasure.

I don't have enough Topaz for another spin but when I do...

Edit: Apparently not everyone gets the same thing for Casino? I got a Wheel last time (it sucked), and Bingo this time (it seems better).

It doesn't require it, in the literal sense, but you're basically not going to make much in the way of progress without it (and a disgustingly high global level on top of that; skimming the Discord, the developer of the thing had a level of over 500 and 1250 topaz and was barely able to get a whole 1 reward out of the event!). And you can't gain Topaz at all while any event is ongoing either apparently.

Might just not be equippable in that slot. I have never had a bleed rune so I can't check but I have a stun rune that can go in offhand and armor but not in the main hand.

The game does not seem to document this in any way. It's probably hidden in a discord pin on a server I'm never going to join because I am never going to join a discord just for the sake of documentation.

That was for Night Hunt, which ended a couple days ago. For regular weekend events, Topaz continues to generate as per normal.

Xerol

I think the timing of the events is just unfortunate, if you scroll forward on the calendar it looks like these big ones are scheduled to run every year at certain times and most people didn't unlock the event feature until just before or just after night hunt started, so no one's really had any significant chance to build up topaz. Five weeks until the next big one starts, getting ~2 topaz an hour, you should get about 1600-1700 by the time snowdown starts if you don't spend any. Probably more, since achievements only make gems accumulate faster.
