The “click and hold” is not discoverable at all on Mac OS, but I’ve been using enough Catalyst/“iPad apps on Apple Silicon” to know about it. Even if the right-click context menu only brings up the share sheet that’d still be an improvement. Hell, allow double-clicking/tapping to open the image viewer. Also, while I’m here… when the app is open for a very long time on Mac OS it loses track of unread counts in bookmarks after a certain amount of time. Pulling to refresh often results in negative post counts or zero for threads that I know should have new posts (like USCE). Quitting the app, waiting some amount of time, and then reopening the app usually gets a proper count. I’m guessing this is a caching issue for the user bookmark page because the app gets OOM’d on iOS and it’s not used to being open in the background for very long periods of time. I’m pretty sure I could reproduce it on an iPad if i left it open long enough and the iPad didn’t go to sleep. kefkafloyd fucked around with this message at 20:48 on Oct 13, 2023 |

Yeah but as it is now it's way more visually confusing simply because it's different from how the forums are and how threads in Awful are. Reaching the end of the "page" with the infinite list forces the refresh and threads jump around like crazy and I think there's some bug or conflict with the site or SALR (unlikely I admit) or something where threads with new posts get put at the top of the "page" on the actual site but Awful does it too and flings a thread with new posts, once "discovered" upon a refresh of a new "page" to the very top of the entire list, if that makes sense. Plus it's slightly helpful and more consistent to know that a thread you were reading on the forums was on, say, page four of a forum so instead of having to scroll down to it to reach this vague "page four" you could just pick page four and get to it right away.

Small dumb thing I just noticed: Are there not any platinum icons for the classic or alternative dark themes? I know it shows the grenade icon on the light themes, and on the OLED ones, but not Classic Dark or Alternative Dark.

You can whitelist but Mastodon makes a mess of that since there are a thousand different servers. I wonder if a HEAD call is enough to tell if it’s a Mastodon server.

There’s no fundraising thing because a) Pokeyman didn’t want to have to figure out how to share with contributors, but more importantly b) nobody involved wants to feel an obligation to do work on it. on the website you can attempt to quote a post in a closed thread so you can get the tag with the post id and stuff. i thought you could do it on the app too but apparently not. i think it would be fine to have it behave like the site where it goes to compose a post which you can edit but if you try to post it itll be like uhhh no dogg.
