I hesitate to call it brilliant because it feels obvious in retrospect, but it’s the right move. The team and crowd feed off of what those two guys do

The entire order after Harper just isn’t threatening to the Dbacks at this point.

Oh yeah. Realized that before the game started earlier today with a wistful grin and a "well... if history really is going to repeat itself today, at least it's going all out!"

This is a fantastic fun fact and pairs really well with the rest of this period of good Astros teams. It's the yin and yang of October baseball, like the peak Yankees being the only team to blow a 3-0 series lead.

Even speaking as an Astros fan, it is kinda fun, yeah.

Just another crazy chapter in baseball history, and for better or worse, the Astros of the past 10 years keep finding ways to make sure they're included in that.

Feels very different to the 80s and 90s era Astros I grew up rooting for, who seemed doomed to languish in perpetual obscurity for my entire life.

On a somewhat related note...

My dad died the morning of the November day Hillary lost to Trump, right after the Cubs won the WS, and ofc before most of the Astros-involved craziness of the past 7 seasons. Every year I wonder what he'd make of all this.

I’m sympathetic to that to a degree but there’s been too much Philadelphia Invented Being Sports Fans sentiment floating around so they need to be chastised
