Every physical good and service in the US operates on the continual flow of imports from Chinese manufacturing, including the military. Even the other foreign manufacturing bases rely on materials, components, tools, and machinery from China. If the flow of container ships ever stopped it would be noticeable right away and there would be major shortages and probably breakdowns of basic public services in a matter of months. The very act of the US declaring war on China would be self defeating to the point of destabilizing the US government. The fact that going to war with China would be suicidally stupid of course is if anything a guarantee that it’s what the elites are actually planning. We know for sure their response to problems will never be to try to solve them, so they can only choose some mixture of ignoring problems, and making things worse. It’s still hard to comprehend, what the hell are they thinking? If they want to compete with China, they need to spend a few decades trying to fully reindustrialize. I think if anyone in DC was really worried about the declining military strength of the US, they’d be far better off just using an executive order to nationalize the MIC. Knowing that’s off the table, going to war with China seems like a really stupid way to end a cushy career and comfortable home life.
