Sisi mobilizing a whole rear end tank division is a little hopeful at least. If you wanted to do something for deterrence or domestic consumption there are cheaper things to do. Though my Egyptian comrades do say that the mood on the streets is apocalyptic and the Egyptian Army is pissed as hell that Sisi brushed off Israel shelling them.

Didn't Egypt have two coups and neither of them affected the deal to help Israel keep Gaza blockaded in the slightest? I assume we're paying off anybody who's somebody over there to keep this going. I know Egypt doesn't have the resources to deal with a flood of refugees, but you'd think they could defy Israel on the blockade if they wanted to.
