Found this game on Reddit and it's kind of interesting: https://incrementalrelic.github.io/incrementalrelic/

Basically it's a randomized upgrade idler with a bit of alkahistorian thrown in. I'm only around level 21 or so and it's a bit one-note, but there's no constant clicking needed/etc so that's a big plus; and I like the sort of 'buy artifacts to get random bonuses' system.

I had played this a bit and kind of petered out after getting reincarnation, does it pick up more when you hit 25? reincing didn't seem to be a big boost, especially after the first time.

It's looks like an interesting idea starting out but the all those game systems become completely irrelevant as soon as you unlock the battle system and it devolves into spam resets to buy battle stats to make your reset spam faster.

Yes. You unlock Battle which is a whole new mechanic and drops boxes which give relics and mostly replaces buying. There's a bunch more purchasable upgrades as well that start unlocking.

Not sure how much content there really is so far but there's more than it first seems, at least.

Village: Once you get enough of the Gold upgrades (where gold costs are in the millions) and enough levels of Processing, it starts to actually tick up. I had 3 levels of Church Tax (Prestige upgrade, before realizing it did nothing) and it started ticking up. However, when you get to the point where you make enough food to surpass your tax rate, you're probably hitting the gold cap on the upgrades anyway.

At my point of the game, I'm actually finding the Metal cap to be an issue. Storage, Forge, Holy Metal (Prestige), Aquarium, and Obelisk are the only ways to raise it (maybe more that I'm not mentioning), while Plant/Wood/Stone you can get up in a number of ways, and they go up a bit each time from Offering.

Mining: I'm up to level 90 upgrade, still haven't gotten Max Depth 15 upgrade yet. Having a tough time deciding what to spend the limited prestige currency on. Rare Earth would decrease the time I wait for Salt and Granite, but I'm currently getting stopped by lack of Tin and Iron expansion. I don't really want to invest too much in Tin capacity, but Iron capacity is so expensive. I also probably need more Max Dweller Depth if I want to reach Max 15. On the other hand I could ignore all that and go for more scrap gain, but right now my Salt income dries up after level 79 since there's always at least 2 ores.

Horde: I assume Ash Circle is level 61, I really miss it and I recently got up to 60 but had to prestige due to the boss doing way too much damage.

Ironwood RPG: It says Gold Scythe can equip 2 runes, but I only seem to be able to equip one. Am I missing something?

The max depth 15 upgrade is really nice, it makes restarting runs much less annoying in mining.

I was in the beta (where all the in-app purchases were available but cost $0) and found it a bummer how in-your-face the monetization was. And it wasn't even like, an imbalance issue -- I found myself progressing at a totally acceptable rate that kept my attention without having to make any fake purchases. But at any given time it felt like clicking anywhere on about 40% of the given screen area would pop up one of several shop screens begging me to spend currency to skip this timer, or buy this item, or whatever. Just felt very desperate and killed any sense of whimsy the game had for me. I don't mind it trying to sell me stuff but it just got a little intrusive.

Gonna play tasty.

Dang, I have just barely started to work my way into tier 4 buildings. I really need to use some of my absurd number of exam passes and burn a few hours worth of time skip.

I was going to post that I liked some of the puzzle aspect of the horde mode, but ran into a problem. Really trying to push my highest level, and don't feel like waiting for corrupted flesh to accumulate, so thought I could use some clever equipment choices to beat the next boss. It has no damage mods, just 15 uses of a healing effect. I can't outdamage the healing, so I load up with snowflake, marble column, meat shield, stopwatch, and T-shirt. I should be able to out-tank it.

Turns out after 5 minutes, and every 5 minutes thereafter, the boss rampages, becomes immune to damage reduction, and gains a bunch of attack. I figured it would be like just barely outdamaging a rock's toughness to push another level, but it is basically impossible to out-tank a boss. Which raises the question of why there are so many stackable survivability items, but I guess I will just wait for corrupted flesh to knock a sigil and a few percentage of attack and defense off.

Orvin

I think for horde mode you are either long playing it to build up a bunch of corrupted souls
as the overcap penalty starts pretty soft at like 75%. Or you are cycling quick rebirths to try for heirlooms. But with the recent change to nostalgia (much more nostalgia, but each gives a smaller bonus), that is not quite so required anymore.

I just checked, and I think I started with 90 nostalgia, and I should have gotten 30+ heirlooms in a 9 hour run so far, and I haven’t even maxed out my corrupted souls. I can’t quite make it to the next breakpoint of 59 for the next upgrade. So I will probably let it run overnight and try in the morning. If I make it, great. If not, rebirth and try again with my extra 50-60 heirlooms the next run.

Horde: I feel like the best strategy for horde is to just hang out at the top level until the DR on soul gain gets too big, since you're probably not going to get more than one or two more zones out of a prestige anyway. It would probably be optimal to prestige when you're just over the cap but that's a lot of rebuying upgrades and waiting for gear to drop that I just do not feel like doing.

Farm: I'm basically running a minimum of 1 of each crop (so I'm always progressing global level, basically), and then a bunch of barley to save up for more crop slots. Is there any reason to do anything differently? I'm not even sure a second gnome is going to be worth anything, I've got more than enough gold to keep one potato growing all the time.

Mining: If spending gems to get the best pick, what's the best ore combo with 5 crafting slots and iron as the top ore? I have 2 premium slots but I don't think that has an effect on the maximum pick damage, just the minimum/range. Seems like the best I can get is 3 iron, 1 copper, 1 tin (and with a max of 3 iron, but it looks like every combo with 4 iron is worse). Is the upgrade I have yet to unlock at max depth 90 the one that will let me get enough iron cap to buy the 6th slot? I can probably push for that this run but if that isn't it then I'll just wait until I can reach it more easily.

I'm hardly anywhere with the farm but I've been target farming crops depending on how active I'm being. It definitely seems easier to get the fast growing crops to prestige 4 and quickly reset for the global boost, then slowly push prestige on carrots for the prestige level 6 general goal. After that I'm going to start the long trek to saving up for a sprinkler and hope to god it speeds things up a bit.

How are you not at dweller depth 12 but getting to iron ore? The dweller max depth stuff is not that expensive, you just have to wait for your dweller to get to near the bottom for way more green gems then shallow. I am pretty sure it is way better to rebirth on like a 2-3 day schedule to max out your dweller depth then a bunch of short runs.

Goodbye, my child.
Something that probably isnt immediately clear about horde, but is useful to know is that the amount of souls and base heirloom chance is based on your highest zone reached that run. You can idle to kill the minibosses in whatever zone you want and still get the full value. This is mostly important because idling on the highest possible zone is much slower in terms of gaining bones or monster parts compared to idling a few zones prior.

Worth noting that the zone you farm in still dictates what heirlooms drop. It's good to get to the point where you can AFK farm L60 to start getting Reaping.
