I'm pretty sure they still take your license plate number down to send you a ticket. Just destroying the boot and running off won't do anything but add additional charges, while probably also loving up your car.

yeah it’s not like if you somehow get a boot off your car the parking authority says “oh shucks he got us, delete all the information about his violation from our system.” the boot is a visual reminder of the violation and how much you owe. if you bypass the ignition interlock on your car you’re not then allowed to drive drunk.

it depends on if the boot was at a private lot or a public facility. if it was a private lot and you can pop it off without damaging the boot (unlike the Tesla dumbass) there's basically jack poo poo the lot owner can do unless you are stupid enough to park there again (at which point they could just tow your car).
