Depends on the whims of the manufacturer too, both UK and JDM SW20 had indicators on the right. Which always used to mess me up when Id get into my other cars. GT86 has it on the left though although that’s more subaru I guess.

Right is the correct side anyway.

I'm in NZ which is such a small market that distributors take at stock from wherever so my Ioniq has them on the left but most other Hyundai models are on the right.

man, that sounds like a downgrade in pretty much every way. isnt the e9x the pinnacle of modern bmw?

The 'pinnacle of modern BMW' is always one or two generations before whichever one you're looking at.

People said exactly the same things about the E90 when it was current and I have a dislike of that generation because I've spent most time in the 320i which is a car with few redeeming features.

WUT.
i guess that's true, but only because they have been back-sliding every generation. the e36 and e46 look kind of lame when compared to the e30, but they look like lithe lean sports cars when compared to anything that starts with F. what's the sports car version of the overton window?

probably when the e30 came out, it would look like poo poo next to an e9 or 2002, but idk i wasn't into cars when i was that young

the S65 is a bright spot in the midst of the ongoing malaise, so the e9x does stand out somewhat.

Yeah, I seem to recall people being very critical of the E90 when it released, it was such a porker and this and that, the E36/E46 was superior in every way etc etc

It has aged extremely well. I am approaching 7 years of ownership and it still thrills me every time I get to drive it.

I cam from an "honest driver" E36 M3 and while it drove well, it was a shitbox. I love an E46 M3 and how it drives/looks but I would probably still take my E90 above the rest. With the E46 is approaching "classic" car status the debate between an F80 and E90 M3 is the debate taking place. If I am blind? E90. If I am deaf? F80.

Anyhow, look at my big dumb Lexus where I happened upon a historic very photogenic street when the lighting was just right.

The entire area from Bedford/Pound Ridge up to North Salem is littered with some great roads if I'm looking to cruise a bit locally and not venture too far. As does the entire North Western corner of CT near Lime Rock Park, especially Route 7 from New Milford all the way north to LRP is fantastic. Only issue with the latter for me is that despite the amazing roads and driving, it's like a half tank of gas or more to get there from where I live...and I live within 1.5 hours of it (read: the GTR is loving thirsty)

As much as I'd love to joke and say "har har, that's my lead foot!", that's with me getting into throttle maybe 20% of the ride, and even that 20% estimate is a stretch. If I actually get on throttle, fuel "efficiency" just drops off a cliff and is definitely sub 10's. If I'm driving normal, mix of highway and city without much throttle beyond 40-50%, I find I get around 175-200 miles on a 18ish gallon tank. :smithicide:

Yeah, you're correct. From what I've seen others with similar, or more aggressive setups, is they also note that their car rips through fuel. It comes back to me expecting it to be "bad" on fuel but not this "bad" once I started really spending time with the car in Spring and through Summer...so ultimately I have to just live with it and enjoy each drop of fuel I'm burning, triple fuel pumps be damned :)

Yep the owner kept all the original parts and they were part of the deal. I’m driving it back home to MD from TX with a very full trunk. The original wheels are ridiculously light, but they’re also impossible to fix (lots of magnesium) and $fuckyou to replace so they’re going on a shelf.

As far as driving on the road actually better than my R56 was because it is on rubber bushings (not poly) and the wheelbase is slightly longer. It is pretty deafening both from road noise and exhaust note so I threw in ear plugs for most of the drive today and that was a pro move.

Thanks, I was hoping to pick up a normal JCW hardtop or All4 Clubman and then this kind of fell into my lap and I just couldn’t pass it up. It’s so worth it.
