Part of my job is assisting on vasectomies (did one today, in fact) and all I'll say is congratulations on your decision and also don't ever get it reversed because that poo poo sucks rear end and is the worst surgery I have to do, and that includes hemorrhoids. People sell it like "it's super easy to get a reversal" that's because you don't have to fuckin' deal with the near-invisible microscopic suturing involved in it

edit: literally microscopic, we have to do it under a microscope

Had mine reversed and can confirm it sucks major rear end. When they say it takes a month to recover they are not fuckin around.

No it really really sucks for the person.

I dunno about the recovery, my involvement is long done by that point but if the above is to be believed it sucks. I can only imagine that it sucks based on what we have to do to it.

Whoa! Sexually active sixteen-year-olds, with multiple partners? A thirteen-year-old in the beginnings of a same-sex relationship very likely to turn sexual? A ten-year-old running around naked? That’s sick! What kind of perverted mind would come up with this sort of thing, let alone write it? It’s certainly not appropriate for teens, nor even adults. Child pornography, that’s what it is! I should be locked up, or at least put in a mental ward, and kept away from children!

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you hypocrisy. I am going to take up this issue in the next article, coming soon. In meantime, I ask that you re-read all the arguments above as to why stories involving horrific violence are not only not harmful, but may well be beneficial, including to children, because I intend to revisit every single one of them, and explain why my book, with all its sex and nudity, is at least as beneficial to teens as all these books full of death. See you soon.

I can't imagine the recovery is much better but yes. The actual vasectomy involves isolating the vas deferens and placing titanium clips on either side of it, then cutting the cord. You'd just do that again. You probably wouldn't be able to reverse-un-reverse it but if you showed up asking to do that the urologist would probably laugh in your face

Reversing a vas involves taking the two clipped ends of the tube, prying the clips off, and then anastomosing them with tiny sutures that are thinner than the hairs on your head under a microscope. Even the tiniest motions under the scope look like humongous movements so trying to cut the sutures without cutting the knot is a humongous pain in the rear end and it looks really loving uncomfortable to recover from, also you have regular stitches in the scrote to contend with

That said a vasectomy is still not half as bad as getting tubal ligation so if you're possessed of testicles and don't want kids, take one for the team

My Dr's assistant did two things:
1. Shave me balls
2. Go to the other room for more anaesthetic when I felt a pain, but the Dr. was basically done by the time the PA got back

When it's done under anesthesia for whatever reason (usually if there is also another procedure taking place, like removing cysts on the spermatic cord for example) the urologist will do it at a surgery center and will have a technician working with them

It sounds like they should just install some kind of threaded (or maybe magnetic) interlock, so that you can undo and redo a vasectomy at will.

During mine I had a nurse and she would assist in that she had two extra hands and can hold things like tools or grab things for the next step while the doc is able to keep their concentration/work quicker/hold something important on your balls/etc.

- yeah, like that. I was under the impression that normal vasectomies were super easy, and often done nowadays with a single tiny hole but I was left with, like, big Frankenstein scars and stuff. What's the difference between the two kinds of procedure?

A contract signed by a minor is not binding!

when walking in a mangrove swamp, don't tread on areas of clear sand or mud. walk on the pneumatophores. clear areas are possibly hollow underneath, as this lady just discovered. sometimes the hollows are home to fish or crabs who shelter there at low tide.

ideally don't disturb the mangroves at all, they are working hard to nurture young sea life and protect your shoreline from erosion.
