Dinnae expect that. I mean this is a pub that's 25 minutes walk from Ibrox, you walk down Govan Road from it towards the city centre, make a right turn then go down Broomloan Road & that's it. And the Rangers support tend not to be particularly sympathetic towards Palestine (not for any real reason, just that Celtic are & football fans are children), so that's genuinely quite encouraging.

I was wondering if Govan was a catholic area or not (not sure if Glasgow divides up along those kind of lines at all) and whether that made a difference but yeah, if they are Rangers supporters that's pretty encouraging - even cheering that woman in a hijab.

If anything Govan is a Muslim area now. Ironically the protestant / catholic thing splits in a real weird way. Rangers play at Ibrox (south) Celtic play at Parkhead (east)... however lots of catholic/celtic supporters live in the south side (Govan, Govanhill, Ibrox etc) while Dennistoun/Shettlestone in the east is full of orange halls, union flags and rangers types.

Pretty sure that's a celtic pub in the video and there are some people in green and white stripes congregating nearby. I would definitely not expect visible sympathy for the Palestinian cause amongst the main rangers support... because of... reasons.

I did not believe you. I did not think there would be a Celtic pub in the middle of Govan, I mean it's 5 minutes or something from Govan Cross. But no, their Facebook page has a post from 2nd January announcing they are showing "Huns vs Celtic". And they still have their windows? That's loving amazing.

I dunno, maybe I have an unfair impression of the area but I lived even closer to Ibrox Stadium (if you know the area, there's a street that goes from Paisley Road West up to Govan Road where the BBC & STV have their buildings, & a school where John Maclean used to teach before he was fired for opposing WW1, there's an Orange Lodge there & round the corner is The Louden, one of the most obnoxiously staunch pubs I've ever seen) & while yeah, it's an incredibly muslim area these days & probably the only part of Glasgow where kids play cricket in the street instead of football, it's still very Rangers.

Glasgow gets very silly sometimes.

All those Rangers pubs in ibrox sit empty on non match days, the population changes drastically when the blue horde pour out of the subway.

I work as a kitchen designer for a small independent company, and Wren have an absolutely terrible reputation in the industry. Their sales tactics are incredibly high-pressure and predatory, to the point that some showrooms employ someone specifically to intercept customers on the way to the door if it looks like they're about to leave without agreeing to buy. The kitchens themselves are mediocre, and aftercare varies between nonexistent and actively dismissive. Their advertising budget is huge, which is how they snag most of their business.

I actually had a couple come in a couple of weeks ago on the recommendation of their son-in-law, who is a Wren fitter. His advice to them was not to go near the place.

It's pretty much top of my list of companies I'd never work for. The pay can be pretty good, but the rate of burnout among staff is huge.

Hard agree on this. We went to Wren just to see the options and what we could have and then did it ourselves for a third of the price.

What I would say to that though is that I am a carpenter and have a full workshop of specialist tools to do it, and its still taken me months of my free time. So its not always about the pure £ cost upfront.

Everyone knows Israel has nukes. He's been removed because bloodthirsty as Likud are, they know full well that if Israel showed that they were willing to use nukes aggressively then every surrounding nation would descend on them in a war of extinction. Even the threat of US support wouldn't deter them, it would literally be "us or them".

Of course, Israel aren't going to use nukes on Gaza. They wouldn't be able to use the land for settlement if it glowed in the dark.
