Migi and Dali continues to be insanely good. Not going to discount the early eps and their valuable establishing work but from 4 onwards it has kept topping itself with new ridiculous plans and significant progress through the main mystery.

is the game developer fraud in this week's 16-bit sensation based on anything that actually happened or is it just semi-plausible setup for the rest of the series?

I'm not sure of the specific company but it's way to close to actual Fraud schemes in Japan that I imagine it happened.

Cracked up at the US it company scheme too

I could see writing up an analysis of certain aspects of a well done show that takes longer than the aspect in question. For example, the first opening for season one of SPY X FAMILY is a master class in animation technique, using multiple art styles to invoke individual aspects of the overall story, and I would be willing (with a bit of research and paycheck to justify my time) to write a treatise with details on those original sources of each style and how they relate to what the series is about, which I am certain would take at least half an hour to do properly.

BUT

Such a dissertation would only be interesting to people in certain academic film, comics, & art circles and not something that the general public would give a tinker's drat about even if they understood half of what would be brought up, and I would limit sharing such a study to those areas and not blatting it out on social media. Especially if it would avoid having to create one of those lovely thumbnails to get people to listen.

Well, that's enough bloviating.

How about that new episode of "I'm In Love With The Villainess?" We learn a bit about Claire's motivations for her behaviour, find Rae is an accomplished baker and is also a menace to humanity for introducing mayonnaise to that world. :chef:

It's a cool idea but I feel like every episode is ten concurring threads and sometimes the episode is a bit too jumbled as a consequence. Adding a random extra story was kinda unnecessary.

Under Ninja can be tough to follow but I think it's mostly intentional since every POV character is at the ground level in this incredibly weird secret ninja war and has no idea what the big picture is either.

absolutely have had the thought that if like the best 20% of character interactions in under ninja were expanded out into a weird slice of life about losers in an apartment complex hanging out it'd probably be at or near the top of my favorite things of the year

as is it's bizarre, fascinating, and i think i like it as a whole, but idk if i like it more than a bunch of other stuff i've seen this year
