He was the CEO of Milo Yiannopoulos' company and his handler for a while after that, but they had a falling out. His latest achievement is getting all discussion of himself and his games banned from the major tabletop RPG subreddits because his discord followers couldn't stop promoting the kickstarter for a revised edition of his TTRPG. He's the only person who you are explicitly not allowed to mention on RPG.net because he got litigious and threatened to sue over something or other. Just getting himself yeeted out of every possible RPG space. It's also funny Macris shares that august Reddit distinction with noted pant-making GBS threads edgelord Zak Smith, both of whom on top of being a horrible humans being just cannot hold a conversation like a functional adult for five minutes before making people want to gnaw off their own legs to get away.

I liked a lot of the people there at the time, but most of them aren't even there anymore. Basically in that industry you just got to find out how to get clicks on the site and gaming the SEO of it all and also leveraging social media. And they are who they are because of their acquisitions. Like at the time they were based out of Australia, not sure if this is still the case and they broke in with esports, but even at the time esports bubble was basically at its peak and there were pivots to other content like Fortnite since that is what people were searching for a lot on google. This was during the pivot to video era, and then when facebook changed their algorithm and killed that whole video side of business. Crazy poo poo to see. But yeah I mean esports websites take advantage of the people who actually have the passion for the game they like and want to cover. So you might have writers that are pitching stuff, but upstairs is saying we need more how to guides, lists, rankings, upcoming skins, leaks or whatever since that made more money. From my experience, its just pumping out content and hoping you get some crazy viral action through SEO since you got the story out first. And always making money over wanting to actually cover something. Just some soulless poo poo honestly.

YT has been recommending this channel, she seems to focus on events and cons but basically whatever. Today's vid is about something I've been following of late, the Las Vegas F1 GP or rather the preparations for it. This is a slightly different perspective than I used to, which is locals and regular visitors/content makers who have seen life on the Strip turned upside down, with walkways and fountains covered and closed, to say nothing of taxpayer money going into it. Amanada is an F1 fan who's going to attend but raises concerns about the track. The track is a terrible layout designed more to show off the strip itself rather than to promote good racing. It's a rectangle with a handful of corner snarls.

Holy poo poo, the Boogie2988 Documentary. I'm not even sure it's a good documentary in the strict sense, given that it basically enables a lot of his misery-whoring entitlement. I know it's not really a documentarian's place to directly press the subject, but it feels nakedly transactional. "I'll be your click lolcow, you give me some exposure to try and get people watching and paying for my trainwreck".

I don't think it enables it when the first part casts him in such a terrible light that you can't possibly feel bad for him afterwards. It casts him as a creepy entitled jerk first, and then goes into how much of an utter trainwreck he is and how sorry he feels for himself. If you can get through him talking about loving LA 10s instead of Alabama 8s while saying an escort is 'thicker than he likes' and still think "man, poor guy," I don't think there's a single thing that could've been done to dissuade you from that opinion. It also straight up goes "hey, Boogie, you should think about getting a job other than youtube if it's not paying your bills" and then shows the interview he does with a placement counselor in which she shuts down his 'poor me, I can't be hired anywhere cause of all the stuff surrounding me' pretty solidly. His whole act gets shown as a pretty hollow sham and I don't know why Boogie agreed to release it at all other than a desperate desire to get people to look at him and pity him. He comes off spectacularly bad in it.
