Yeah it's The Missing. Celeste's protagonist is also definitely trans but it's not deliberately spelled out in the plot at least, whereas it's central to the story of The Missing. Though, as a warning, The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories is a pretty gruesome game as one of its main conceits is that the protagonist can regenerate from any injury and you solve a lot of physics puzzles with clever use of your limbs and body

I will probably never play Starfield but I am amazed at how many YouTubers / streamers / content creators blew a loving gasket and outed / confirmed themselves as immensely lovely people over the character creator because of options they didn't have to use. That really ugly bald guy screeching about pronouns until the veins in his head were visible, DrDisrespect confirming that he's actually a loving transphobe / alt right gently caress wit, etc I like it when games give you the option for your gender / presentation, but at the same time I love games like Control / the Horizon series and their female protags In summation:

So it is relevant to the story and worldbuilding.

AC Valhalla wasn't *great* but I did think it was interesting that if you leave the main character's gender on default, Eivor is a woman in reality but a man in their dream sequences and visions. I found that neat. I did see someone on youtube today complaining that in rat colony sim 'Ratopia' your little avatar character is set to be a female-presenting rat. 'I can't roleplay as a lady rat  '

The Battletech game that was out a while ago also let you pick they/them pronouns and these gamer dorks didn't say a goddamn peep. They might have been distracted by the chief engineer wearing a hijab, though.
