I have Spidermanned myself to completion. Great game, although it may not crack the top 5 this year. It was fun, and it's top tier for cinematics and spectacle, but it was really just More Spiderman -- which is cool but I've already played one and a half games exactly like this. Felt like the combat was getting pretty samey about halfway through, and I don't think I ever played more than 2 hours or so at a sitting. The open world felt kinda weaker though. I wanted more stuff to do in the city besides the collectathons. The Flame side quest was good, and Miles's museum theft was fun but I was disappointed when I realized it was only two missions and l was already done. Coulda used at least another few quest chains like that, some meatier stuff with a little story behind it. And IIRC the FNSM app (I pronouce it "fnizzim" in my head) was more fleshed out last time, with a SpiderTwitter and more little neighborhood requests. I did like what they did with the boss fights, though. I don't remember the other games super well but I feel like they did more gimmicky fights, whereas in this one you got to just beat the villains down with your hands for the most part. I started a few of the fights over just because I got hit a few times, and it felt so good just running circles around Kraven or whoever, dodging all his blows and burning through his health with nonstop combos and special attacks. Good game! Not sure if I'm gonna jump back into Mario next or what. Maybe it's time to finally play RDR2? Comedy answer: finish Starfield lol

speaking of squad based rts based on a licensed property there should be another Dawn of War. Not sure if the devs that made it originally are still around though. I think there was a Company of Heroes game recently?

You can change the slow motion to pause as well, which I am assuming is mandatory on controller. I played with the slow motion option on PC and you need to make some fiddly choices/angles happen that I reckon would be irritating on a controller.

Decided to go for the Spider-Man platinum and the loving game either bugged out or I am missing something, cause I have done literally everything on the map but it says I’ve only done 6 of 9 emf missions. Which I need for a the trophy as well as the final upgrade point and all of the suits. So there’s multiple trophies I can’t even get. Awesome, glad I wasted like 6 hours clearing out all the remaining side poo poo after I finished the main story.

I could've sworn a week ago that Spider-Man would be the best 'brawler where the PC grabs objects with a spiderweb-like whip and punches people so hard they bounce off the ground only nonlethally somehow' game that I would play this year but Yakuza Like A Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name is giving it a serious run for its money 2023 is a true Year Of Games

I knew pausing would be necessary but lag on the menus does sound annoying. Guess I'll check some Steam Deck reviews before I make a purchase. Be nice to play an atmospheric Alien game on a big screen though...

Cyberpunk update: I am Jane Bond'ing in Dogtown, and feel a bit guilty for drinking, dancing and flirting with Alex when I haven't stopped by Judy's in ages. I dunno if saving V is really a possibility, or if I am willing to pay the likely price to do so...until anytime Johnny pops up to be a sarcastic prick again, which sets me back into full BURN EVERYONE mode just to get shot of the fucker. For reals, every clip I've saved has just been V dispensing caustic burns anytime he chimes in, I love it. Also, why can't I romance Lizzy Wizzy? Game is trash, etc.

The closest I have to that is a conversation with someone in support of their side of some crazy argument I don't remember and unfortunately little context was given in the PMs. I know it was in Games circa 2014 but that's about it. I find PMs are mostly just good for SA Mart to buy stuff and commission art. I always figured if someone tried to beef with someone in PMs they'd most likely post the PM in the related thread and get called out on it.

According to some guy on Youtube there don't seem to be any limits on pairing optical drives and consoles, so it's possible to share, swap, or sell them with no obstacle other than having to put the console online at least once. Not as good as if it didn't require online pairing at all, but still pretty good e: lol. I have embeds turned off so that's the exact same video above

It seriously boggles the mind that people take seriously the awards show that's 40% ads by volume.
