Since colourism is the topic, it's worth noting that David Seymour (the one on the right who looks like Chris Barrie/Rimmer) is of Ngāpuhi Māori descent. Both Seymour and Peters (ironically on the left) are regressive on issues of race and campaigned on policy including abolishing Maori seats in parliament.

Yep, that’s what I assumed when op was saying it was colorist. As Seymour is a light-skinned Māori, he has probably had a much more privileged life and can get away with being a FYGM ghoul. That’s my guess anyway, as I’m not familiar with NZ politics.
