Danielson is great but not all great wrestlers are great bookers or coaches. It's not a knock because he's easily a top 5 wrestler of all time. But that doesn't mean you're automatically a great booker.

Did anyone ever confirm what his “personal issue” was that caused him to leave AEW? I imagine it’s Tony because whenever he praises AEW he talks up Omega and the Bucks and Hangman but he never mentions Tony.

I always thought it was pretty obvious. Cody wanted Punk/Jericho money but had booked himself out of the main event, the crowds had turned on him, he refused to turn heel and his segments, while still drawing viewers, were increasingly becoming total trainwrecks. The dude has done well in WWE but there's no reason to rewrite history, the dude looked cooked in AEW.
