The giant stumbling block with anyone over 50 is in order to have any kind of conversation you have to convince them Israel and the US lie. For a lot of people that simply is impossible. I've given up on my parents. They are not in positions of power and I won't cut them off after everything they have done for me, despite their horrid opinions on world politics. If that makes me a coward or horrible person than so be it
