The thing about CM Punk's AEW run is that his best matches were ones that the WWE would never be able to do; the first match with MJF was basically a love letter to ROH, the dog collar was a territories era bloodfest, CM Punk vs Samoa Joe was a continuation of 20 years of history between the two. He'll probably have a fine 3 star match with Seth that gets inflated to a 4 by Meltzer and a surprisingly excellent match with Sami where Sami plays the babyface to the condescending heel but I struggle to think of anyone that he'd be great with in the WWE.

I’m very interested to hear what Punk has to say tonight. I don’t think he will bash AEW. After all, his 2023 journey has been one of forgiveness, going all the way back to making amends with The Miz in May. I think the Second City Saint is going to have his sights towards the future, not the past.
