Belicheck to Michigan, Brady goes back to school to get his doctorate and plays QB along the way.

The only thing I give a poo poo about right now is if Telesco is fired alongside Staley. If Spanos lets that milquetoast dipshit choose another head coach and work another draft, I'm just done with this garbage-rear end team. At this point it's blatantly clear that Telesco is at the heart of all this team's problems that can be realistically solved. He can't draft worth a poo poo, can barely do free agency adequately, and has managed to let way too much good talent walk out the door. I never forgot how Eric Weddle got treated in his last season, and over the years, Telesco proved that was the real first giant red flag about his poo poo performance right up there with Donald Butler's contract extension.

To be clear, Dean Spanos and his loser-rear end kids are the real problem, but I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon so I'm not even gonna bother speculating about them.

Does it really matter who is picking the coach when ownership is shopping at Dollar Tree?

Should I just respond to everything concerning the Chargers with "doesn't matter, Spanos"

I think I'll try that.

The point I was trying to make was that there’s not much reason to argue about getting rid of Spanos cuz it’s not happening. However, Despite his clear flaws as an owner, rolling the dice on a new GM and HC is preferable to sticking with this garbage-tier crap that’s currently running the team. Because yes things could be worse with a new GM; but if this team is at 4 wins on the season as it is, worse isn’t all that worse anymore. But things could also improve, and that’s the part I’m interested in.

Sticking with Telesco another year to pick a new HC just shows the Chargers aren’t a serious team and not worth the time and emotion we put into them. That’s my bigger concern, even over when they finally fire Staley. I’ve had a lot of friends who gave up on this team when they moved, and those who’ve remained since have been so apathetic this season, even I’m questioning whether to bother with them anymore.

Oh, I'm right there with you. The Spanoses aren't going anywhere, and if you believe that the team can't win as long as they're in charge, then there's no logical point in talking about the team at all.

But I like talking about my team regardless of the glass ceiling they've imposed on themselves with ownership. I just want to see some kind of step in the right direction.

Does the GM determine things like medical staff/procedures? It's weird that has remained a constant for the Chargers since before the SD-LA move.

The GM manages all football telated stuff going on in the organisation - people overestimate how much time they are spending on personnel decisions etc. a lot of their time is spend hiring and managing the people overseeing the scouting, analytics, facilities, grounds staff etc.

This includes the medical/athletics training staff who will report to the GM (at least in the orgs I've looked at).

Kinda hard for the GM to hire a decent medical staff when his budget is mostly Burger King coupons, tho

He'd rather have a poo poo coach who puts up with his bullshit than a good one who pushed back. Not only does he get someone who follows orders, he gets someone to scapegoat when he loses.
