In case you aren't following along, Trump tried to ask the court to declare that Presidents are entirely immune from prosecution. The court smacked him down hard. So he went up to the next tier of appellate court, and the Special Counsel has now asked SCOTUS to bypass the additional appeals court layers and take up the case directly. SCOTUS ruling that Presidents can't be prosecuted would be profoundly dumb on all kinds of levels and clearly beyond the pale but you can bet that at least two or three of the cretins will vote in favor of it for certain and thus cement their worthiness of the guillotine.
Anyway, as you can imagine, freep sees this differently.

You apparently haven't read the two main points of Trump's legal argument for presidential immunity:
1. The President is immune from prosecution for acts taken during the official conduct of his office.
2. The plain language of the U.S. Constitution may grant him immunity under the "double jeopardy" clause written into the provisions on impeachment:
Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States; but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.
President Trump was ACQUITTED in his impeachment trial over the 1/6 fiasco.
