Back in my drinky days I bought an old civil defense Geiger counter off eBay and you better believe that thing got pointed at everything in my house. Aside from smoke detectors, the highest readings were in the basement stairs, presumably from the cinder blocks or whatever the hell my foundation is made of.

Granite and many other rocks have low levels of radionuclides that may decay into Radon, which is pretty dense and tends to accumulate in basements.

Its low in many areas but in some places like Cornwall in the UK the granite is so widespread and near the surface that it seeps up. So by law every house with a basement has to have ventilation and a detector installed.

It depends greatly on your local geology.

Pretty sure this spun off from the 24 Hours of Lemons. Not sure if there's been a goon team for that but I wouldn't be surprised.

My house has ventilation, and I had a dude with a sensor come by as part of the inspection. But who knows lol

I used one of these years ago, to strip paint.

Beat the poo poo out of the wood clapboard siding I was tasked to strip.

Loud af on metal (bodywork) and it just doesn't work well.

Probably perfect for a Gangs Of New York-style street brawl

we had to clear everything we could then cut off the tufts on the plant side of the needles that went through his toe, then pull them through with a leatherman

cactus needles have scales that secure them in on a one-way trip, pulling them out leaves giant tears and debris behind vs. pulling them through clean

I'm also just an extra scared person on acid and would never find myself in that situation so like... It is what it is and it couldn't hurt more or less because it was always going to hurt so there.

OSHA at work yesterday: 3 maintenance guys were working in an area with UV curing lamps for ink and didn't think to turn the lamps off. All 3 went home with eye burns, and now all 3 are at home lying in dark rooms. Good news though is their injuries are minor enough that they should all be okay in a few days.
