i own every Bionicle posted:Yes Newton has progressed pretty quickly all things considered. I got him home Wednesday night after a 3 hour car trip back from the shelter. He had spent 3 months there and been returned once after spending just one day at another adopters house who had an out of control GSD puppy who pushed him to snap. When I went to meet him he was nervous being out in the front area of the shelter, but came on a short walk with me and a friend around the area so I could see what his demeanor was. He was never afraid of people but not attracted either, and nervous in new situations. So I don’t think he was ever abused. He seemed to somewhat enjoy petting at the time but now gets into them more than he did. I think he lived most of his life with other dogs only because the only time I’ve seen him wag his tail so far is when we were at the shelter picking him up and he saw one of his buddies. He didn’t know his name or any commands (he originally came from puerto rico and I tried speaking Spanish to him, to no avail). I think he really relied on other dogs for guidance and reassurance, and now he’s starting to learn that people are OK too. I’m really looking forward to seeing what he’s like in another week!  Henry just went A WOO WOO WOO, banged his paws at me and even stood up against my leg, a thing he is usually far too polite to do, because I asked him if he wanted his current favorite treat - veggies. He is insanely fond of eating a handful of frozen mixed vegetables several times a day. He is more excited by frozen peas, green beans, carrots and sweetcorn than he is by cheese or even meat. Boy loves him veggies

If Newton and I ever go to Ireland or Pookah and Henry ever come stateside we can make that happen. Newton at least loves other dogs

Newton at least loves other dogs Henry loves other dogs too, and is a very enthusiastic mimic - if the dog he meets is gentle and calm, so is Henry, if they are feisty and keen to pee on everything and do that back paw scratch scratch thing to scent mark, Hell, Henry is gonna scratch scratch scent mark just as tough as the other guy. I'd say he and Newton would get on really well, it sounds like Newton has extremely good dog manners.

From what I googled, sounds like this was a family on a picnic and a random couple of cats decided they had a new home.

If that is true, those are some impressive cat whispering skills right there. I try to pspsps random cats on the street sometimes, but they usually run away

That depends on the cat too. Street cats are usually not sociable, but I pspsps every loving cat I see and Ive met some pretty amicable strays that way edit: actually, one of my cats was like that: he was a street cat that just decided to join a family that was camping near here. But when the family had to go home, they could not take him so I ended up adopting him. Also a yellow, by the way Elias_Maluco has a new favorite as of 14:48 on Dec 14, 2023 |

We were trying to bring in this floofy calico living in the woods behind my lovely apartment complex, but she flipped the gently caress out and ran off. We sat down by the maintenance shed wondering if we should try to search for her in the woods when this little flea-covered, filthy kitten comes trotting out of the woods and just climbs in my now-wife's lap. Photo taken that day after a bath:  Big chungus today (he's like 18 lbs):  The rest of that story: Turns out that calico was pregnant and popped out 4 kittens 2 days later. I worked with the maintenance guys to let her live in the shed for a bit then we got them all fixed and adopted.
