Stable Diffusion is far more powerful than DallE if you want to reach in and specify things, change things, mesh it into Photoshop or something of the sorts. As a tool, Stable Diffusion is more capable than DallE strictly on the grounds of control, training, tweaking, specialized models.

i guess what i meant by "weaker" is that while i can make a much wider variety of stuff with stable diffusion, it feels like whatever i make in dalle3 looks a lot better, and of course the more conversational nature of prompting is nice. thats only since dalle3 came out tho, i didnt feel that way about 2. and i'm still mainly working with stable diffusion 1.5. but i do appreciate being able to play with custom libraries etc. even if writing prompts is somewhat more tedious

(also im not remotely any kind of programmer so i use a version of stable diffusion with a nice gui and such but which has some additional limitations on things like resolution etc since i dont know how to get in and really mess with the parameters myself)

That's just the plugins that put Stable Diffusion inside other programs:

ComfyUI or rather, Krita with ComfyUI running inside:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU8NDSBIS1U

Photoshop with Stable Diffusion running inside:
https://github.com/AbdullahAlfaraj/Auto-Photoshop-StableDiffusion-Plugin

I absolutely understand why Dall-E 3 is so well liked, it allows you to slam out hilarious poo poo extremely easy, and as demonstrated, it is the ONLY ONE that can do game screenshots like that, both MidJourney and Stable Diffusion never get it right, plus as you say, the conversational aspect.

Something amusing I noticed, or at least I found it amusing: if you ask for DALL-E to make a character autistic, it just gives them headphones.

Well now it's not doing it, poo poo.

[Verse]
I woke up this morning, feeling so much rage
Angry at the world, trapped in a dark cage
But then something happened, a magical display
I felt a rumble deep inside, something I could not sway

[Chorus]
I pooped (I pooped), and the anger went away (went away)
I pooped (I pooped), everything's okay (everything's okay)
It's a simple act, but it brought me joy
I pooped (I pooped), now I'm like a brand new toy
