I can only assume at this point that SDS - the devs of The Show - are just a bare bones skeleton crew who only exist to squeeze out one annual release at the lowest cost possible. The last major graphical update was like The Show '17, bugs that have existed in the game for years and get actively complained about on the official forums are still present, and very little if anything changes year to year besides the UI, rosters, and some minor tweaks here and there, maybe a new gimmick mode or two. They also only give a poo poo about Diamond Dynasty because that's what makes them money the player market: there hasn't been a meaningful update to RTTS that makes it worth buying a new version since... '19, I think?

Yea it's because rube fans are buying 70 dollar roster updates every year so they don't have to actually work on the game.

They also have no direct competitor for realistic-looking MLB games, so  I can’t remember the last baseball video game I bought but I think it was MVP Baseball and had Pujols on the cover?

They do these exclusive licenses so there is no competition and they put out 70 dollar roster updates every year. The only way it changes is if people stop buying it.

Ah, as long as they don't gently caress with the core gameplay and sim I don't really care too much. I am generally extremely loathe to spend extra money on games after purchase. Be neat if they dropped prices on things to match, but margins.
