I'm not huge on my marvel lore but isn't Wolverine like 200 years old or something? Didn't he fight in the american civil war? A Wolverine game set in that time period would own. I guess he didn't have his claws back then tho or whatever?? Just spitballin here its right now in modern times but a pre-xmen origin story. it starts off at weapon x and part of his senses/witcher mode abilities is him remembering poo poo through his amnesia. its their own version of events related to weapon x and characters tho. but they have like 70s wolverine outfit and stuff like that. at least it looks like its modern times come to think of it. it doesnt really say either way but visually it looks like it

The gen 7 Wolverine game was a linear character action game and actually pretty good The only game character where no one can complain about regenerating health, lol

Jim Ryan is such an incompetent idiot. His legacy will look good on paper because covid literally drove the gaming industry into double digit/triple digit growth in some areas. But alot of the good work seems to be from his predecessors. Also Bluepoint is working on an original ip. Good for them but this means there is now even less possibility of someone working on anything Bloodborne related.

No give me Days Gone but with Wolverine, but make the zombies all robots because my original frame of reference for the character was the 90s cartoon where Wolverine was only allowed to hurt robots, never people.

Sony has stated that sales exceeded expectations on both of them. Demon's Souls was a PS5 launch game that sold 1.5 million immediately, before almost anyone could find a PS5. Bloodorne sold really well for a Fromsoft game bound to a single platform. And the landscape has majorly changed since either of them were released, especially Bloodborne. Fromsoft has gone from niche to mainstream legendary since then. It might not carry the same level of priority to Sony as a Naughty Dog, Guerilla, or Insomniac, but they knows what cards they are holding with Bloodborne. Also Demon's Souls was a really small project by Sony standards, which is likely why they were willing to drop it as a PS5 exclusive at launch. They made it to sell PS5s, not to sell 20 million copies.

It took Sony over a year to sell 20 million PS5s I hope with all my heart that Bloodborne gets a 60fps patch one day but the fact that Sony has refused to so much as acknowledge the existence of Bloodborne doesn't bode well. When was the last time Sony officially acknowledged Bloodborne? An easter egg in Astro Bot that was probably put there by someone at Japan Studio? A tweet from the Sony Twitter account that was promptly deleted? I'm just going by what I see.

I called it a failure, not Sony. I'm inferring Sony's standards by what they've been exclusively releasing for the past 5-7 years.

What I meant was not that Bloodborne itself was a failure at the time, but that a game released in 2023 that sells as much as Bloodborne would be a huge failure today, according to Sony's current standards. Sorry for being unclear. My whole point is there's no indication that Sony has any interest in revisiting a game that sells as little as Bloodborne did in their current era of blockbuster media franchises.
