what happens to the entire thing if several "liberal" states get this done?

SCOTUS isn't going to take away the rights of states to hold elections

if that happens it's much worse than whatever trump could do

this implies liberal states A) want this to happen and 2)would ever do anything against the status quo

ofc this means from 2024 on we're going to see every non-republican eliminated from every ballot using this and the dems will shrug or make some really cool signs and protest on a saturday

fukken lol that the colorado cowards said in their ruling "disregard this as the supreme court will clearly overturn our decision"

how many judges say explicitly in their rulings they're punting because they want a higher court to take over?

we would be talking about, to be clear, SCOTUS telling state supreme courts that they don't have final jurisdiction over their states' elections.

Alito and Thomas, fine whatever. I don't see Roberts signing onto rewriting the constitution, nor Gorsuch. Barrett doesn't matter.

I think they have three votes for cert, max.

this does not appreciate the absolute rear end-blasting impossibility that just happened in CO

they booted him from the ballot for insurrection. you will never see that again from a state Supreme Court.

like you're 100% correct in thinking the constitution gives states the rights to conduct their elections but that's irrelevant to what scotus thinks (the being constitutionally correct part)
