I was at the dollar store because on the rare occassions I need greeting cards or wrapping paper it just makes so much more sense to not pay very much for them They apparently also sell gift cards there which is also what I was shopping for. But when I tried to buy them there, the employee's register like freaked out and she couldn't figure out how to sell them and finally said it is cash only. So I went around the corner to the grocery store and bought them with my debit card  They were just the $50 general use visa gift cards.I tried to be nice to the employees at the dollar store though. It was a minor annoyance but ultimately I didn't really care that they couldn't sell me the cards. They were clearly fighting for their lives working there at the holiday season so I didn't want to make their day worse than it already is

My brother's birthday is Dec 26th and we often went as a family to the movies for his birthday when we were kids Sorry for contributing to negative employee mental health. I never worked in a theater but I do feel the retail pain

You always hope that restaurants and stores will be LESS busy the week after Xmas, like everyone should be sick and tired of shopping and dining out, but in my experience this is never the case
