Banning mods is not gonna happen considering how much free dev work modders do to fix Fatshark's issues. I'm still salty it takes a mod to fix a day-one issue where Melk's contracts don't update unless you specifically visit melk with each character first.

Also the "cache" mod that makes hub loading not take 3+ minutes randomly for unfathomable reasons.

Does the Xbox version autoaim for players because controllers can't reliably line up headshots?

Or are they held to the same standards as m+k players?

They're usually the bad player(s) on any pubbie team, but I wonder if that's because they're used to shooters doing half the work for them.

don't use it because Charge and Chorus are both infinitely better in the majority of circumstances you involve yourself as Zealot. :v:

It has merit with a Thunder Hammer for just deleting a boss's health bar, and is probably fine to use generally but tbh I haven't personally touched the ability. Zealot is my most played class overall as well. Need to change that at some point I suppose.

edit: To try and elaborate on some actual use cases that aren't just a player forgetting it exists most of the time-

Reposition to get closer to a bunch of shooters safely to tie them up

Use it for a big burst of damage on a large single target (crusher, mauler, monsters. Mediocre use on crushers on maulers imo with the sheer amount that spawn on Damnation+ and the CD the ability has)

Giving you some uninterrupted time to get a teammate up off the ground. (only if you have the 6 second stealth, 3 second one cuts it close)

a small burst of toughness back if you have the ability modifier

drop aggro if you're in a bad spot

To add to this, it's also nice for reloading bolters. If snipers are in a hard position to take out, it's nice to be able to take your time to line up a shot uninterrupted. Also it's got its own voice lines so thats cool.

It's also really good to force objectives to keep going if your team is stalling out and not progressing during an event. The ability modifier to extend to 6 seconds is usually enough to complete a symbols task, do a couple scans in a bad spot, or to be the person to toss canisters up ledges (pop stealth before picking up the canister since the ability auto-drops).

yeah but Vet can do that or better with their stealth which lasts 3x as long for no ability modifier. And if you're using a TH for the BIG BAM on monsters then you're probably taking Perfectionist instead of Mastercrafted so you've got a piddly 3 seconds of stealth.

I didn't mention reloading your weapon because it's honestly kind of a pointless upside. You could use any downtime to reload your weapon, why pop a relatively value ability for it? Bolter kinda sucks right now anyway so if you're bringing one that's on you. Not to mention the reload talent is right there.

I'm just gonna have to chalk this up to playstyle preference tbh. Enemy Armor downgrade, free crit, free 25% attack speed for melee and ranged, on demand 50% of your max toughness back and a piddly one modifier sink for 2 charges? Plus the ability to close distance in a majority of circumstances, and with the right build you get them back really really fast.

It's the OG ability and if it was good then it's great now. Chorus is the strongest ability by far though overall.

This might be a problem with ultrawide but I have no idea. See those white speed lines in the corners? The ones that look like Blazing Piety, except not orange and I'm not playing zealot? They're up 100% of the time in missions. It's not distracting as the effect is pretty subtle, but it's weird as hell.

Ra Ra Rasputin

I'm purely a Chorus zealot player because it's the strongest ult in the game, my friend mains stealth knife zealot with that exact attitude knife zealots have a stereotype for, but he makes me respect stealth as a great zealot option and has saved impossible situations simply by doing the entire finale by himself in under a minute or two while the others are struggling to 1vs1 a poxwalker or the game just simply throws waaaaay too many things at a time for anyone to actually do something about the objectives and stay alive at the same time since as soon as the 20 shotgunners are dead it's time for the director to throw the 10 ragers and specialist wave at everyone.

Stealth let's him easily solo hacks, carrying batteries, he even is optimizing how to solo the yellow tentacles and pop the eyeballs before they respawn.
And if someone goes down instead of the run just being over as everyone gets overwhelmed one by one he can simply just do knife zealot things, stab gunners, outrun dangers and stealth and revive.

It's nice for when there's a group of crushers or maulers. Using melee to kill them takes too long and relying on random teammates to do so will get the whole team killed more often than not. You can kill 2-3 crushers, reload safely in stealth, then shoot the rest of them in an extremely manageable and quick way. You don't have any downtime in that situation, and you can't really consider the ability valuable if you never use it while waiting to get the most perfect value out of it. If it's just sitting there it is in fact useless, mash that poo poo, especially if you have the cooldown perks.

The reload perk is nice, but it's even nicer if you can quickly reload without having to worry about the swarm that's around you. The reload perk just lets you do your job even quicker.

What alternative is better on a zealot for killing a bunch of armored heavy guys? Zealot melee and knives can take care of every other situation well enough. Adding in a bolter to cover that situation leaves you way more in control of every situation you come across. And I do agree that charge or chorus is better, but stealth does have its niche points.

And one important thing about zealot and bolter is that throwing a knife while pulling out the bolter will instantly ready the weapon/skips the tail-end of the reload animation. Someone mentioned this way up thread, it's way more usable knowing that now, and actually feels good/fun to use.

I've had one game where this is actually how it played out and the stealther saved the run. The rest of the time it always feels like poo poo went to hell because the stealther pulled aggro on something they couldn't handle, stealthed, and dumped their mistake onto the rest of the team.

A Hand Cannon revolver can kill a crusher in 2-3 headshots. Same for shooting Maulers in the chest. That's what I use. Activating the charge ability mid-eviscerator special will also cause the attack to one shot a Crusher.

I'm not arguing against the stealth zealot things, more power to you. It just doesn't feel like it plays out that way in my games.

The crusher pack example? Why not use chorus and stagger the pack for the whole team to prime their anti armor abilities.

Everytime there's a sick stealth clutch it feels like we could have just chorused and the whole team finish the encounter at 100%

Okay true. I haven't used a revolver in months and figured the nerf would have messed with that too much. And I need to try the new eviscerator again, that was one thing I found that felt nice in particular

Just for me personally, I just got tired of times where I use chorus, but the team was so distracted with a horde that they tunnel vision on them instead of looking around for currently highlighted targets. I have charge and stealth on most of my load outs nowadays

Very possibly it was the result of stuns (though I didn't feel stunned at the time), these days I always run the stun immunity so it'd likely be more reliable if that were the case.
