Fun Shoe
Yes. They don’t work that well either because the glove makes a bigger/blurrier contact area on the screen that the phone doesn’t know what to do with. Ok for mashing big UI buttons but not great for anything else.

We're all going to experience changes in our life but only the best of us will qualify for front row seats.

Unfortunately this 6-in-1 transformer Devastator is not the amazing gift I thought it was going to be. Mostly because it's a bit too complicated for a 6 year old, especially one that is not known for patience to begin with!

https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006089412736.html

I spend more than an hour putting it together with the black and white instruction sheet.. although I still couldn't entirely figure mr. dumptruck out (who became the torso). Good thing it didn't matter for the combination of them all. Somewhat finicky and so not the most stable construction project, although not at the level of falling apart by looking at it. I think a soon-to-be 6 year old would prefer an action figure that they can actually play with more, instead of something that is a better suited to a shelve.

So for now I'm putting it back in the box and storing it in a closet for another year. Lesson learned, just go for something simpler.

I was mildly tempted by one of those imitation lego sets to make a big transformer, but yeah, also too complicated for now (too much pieces): https://aliexpress.com/item/1005005761648032.html

My son got a “legit” one for his birthday and that thing was stupid complicated. Like 48 steps to transform. At that point it’s not a toy. Requires an adult every time and I’m pretty sure has been tossed somewhere and not touched since. And I bet it was not so cheap either.

lesson learned: don't buy SSDs from aliexpress

I figured kingspec wouldn't be bottom of the barrel quality-wise and 2tb for $80 seemed like a steal but the m.2 sata drive I got to go in my cheapo n100 mini pc has crapped itself after only 6 months.

this is the sort of thing where you check a pc builder subreddit, or discord, or discord for a subreddit, and find some nerd who has spent the last decade of his life obsessing over ssds, and he'll tell you which exact model is currently cheap and reliable

Yeah I like winter gloves that have at least 1 finger tip exposed. Or I wear a pair of giant lobster gloves and don't bother to touch the phone screen at all.

For spring and autumn gloves, I really like the thumb and index finger exposed "driving gloves", they are silky smooth and you can just wear them to improve grip.

No, it hadn't occurred to me that that was a setting! Thank you for the tip, I will try it with my mittens. And, yeah, I have an armor glass on the screen, so that might factor into it, although it works just fine with my fingers, without gloves.

Well, it turns out it isn't a setting on my Motorola Moto G22: I went to change it, but couldn't find any of the settings the "how-to" guides were talking about. So, I sent a support request, and got this back: "Unfortunately, our devices do not have a built-in feature to adjust the touch sensitivity of the screen. This is a hardware limitation and cannot be changed through software settings".

For something that is a bit harder and slips in a pocket or bag, this one has variations for 10 micro, 4 micro + 2 SD or 4 SD.
https://aliexpress.com/item/1005005935078853.html

They hold the cards quite tight. You really have to grip the micro SDs with the tips of your thumbs to get them out of there. No wedging them out with the nail on your index finger. Don't get them if you are attached to pristine labels on your cards/adapters.

The seller of the Diamond Painting Notebook sent a message saying that they didn't have my chosen model, and they'd send a similar one, plus a gift. Well, those arrived:

From left to right: the replacement book. You may remember that this is the model I ordered:

...so, it is indeed "similar", what with the mandala theme.

...then, we have the "diamond" placement tool included in the kit; and, the "gift": a :krad: blinged-out version of the same tool!

I think they should've asked for my permission before doing the replacement, but I'm alright with it, and I'm a sucker for bling, the kitschier the better, so, happy end.

3XL shark that is meant to fit 175-185cm, does not me at 180ish (6ft). I’m going to try unpick the bottom so I can stick my feet through and it might work out - I’ll just need to pair it with long socks.

I got a couple of card holders a little while back and this one is my favourite, mostly because I prefer the foam seating for them over trying to click them into the plastic seats.

If this is a real question router planes are a 300+ year old tool. The power router is the powered version of them. It's essentially a right angled chisel on a stick with an adjustable depth. They're pretty good tools! The one I got works fine but you can make your own w scrap wood and a chisel, it depends on your needs and desires.
