She wasn’t violent when she was too far away from anyone to be violent to them, and by the time she was in the same room as anyone to be violent to them, she had a hole in her head preventing her from doing any violence. QED she was never violent.

A: No.

Q: This is metaphorically speaking, of course.
A: It's only metaphorically speaking because I said no. If I'd have said yes you wouldn't have been speaking metaphorically.

This is basically how the insurrectionists are trying to argue. It was all just a peaceful protest. But if they'd gotten close enough to kill any Congressmen, then it wouldn't have been a peaceful protest.

This post is a better argument against the cops in this case than anything using the word "Ambushed".

"The cops should have either left or used a non-lethal response" is a far better argument than "I have no idea why the police were scared, they just randomly shot a person for no reason"

Weren't there still congresspeople in the room at the time? I thought it wasn't quite evacuated yet. So leaving the room wouldn't have been a good option as far as keeping the mob away from elected officials goes.

Funny how "the cops should have used a non-lethal response" never comes up when cops murder unarmed minorities (an activity J6ers overwhelmingly support). Almost as if that's a bad faith argument.

The rules lawyering with state/police brutality when it comes to bobbit is ridiculous. It is a right wing/anarchist whataboutism. Someone jumping through a broken door window while you are covering the escape of congressional members who were literally 30 feet down the hall in plain view, after numerous warnings and threats for minutes as they hacked down the door? Yeah you better expect you're getting perforated, no questions asked. You can't violently force your way into a military base and expect the MPs to come out and politely pepper spray you.

There's plenty to discuss regarding to ACAB, but trying to argue this very specific scenario is bad faith and the only acceptable genuine explanation is to say she should not have been shot because the concept of the state and laws should not exist.

Judge rejects Giuliani’s request for ‘indefinite extension’ of deadlines in Georgia election case

quote:

The presiding judge in Georgia’s election interference case over the 2020 presidential election has rejected Rudy Giuliani’s request for more time to file pretrial motions.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee on Friday denied the former New York City Mayor’s motion for an “indefinite extension” of the court’s motions deadline, reasoning that his attorneys failed to provide any reason as to why they had been unable to get through the discovery materials provided in the case.

“The Defendant moves for an indefinite extension of the January 8th motions deadline citing his incomplete review of voluminous discovery,” McAfee wrote in the 1-page order. “Defendant does not articulate exactly what discovery must still be reviewed, or why the review has not been completed in the approximately four months that have passed since arraignment.”

The presiding judge also took aim at Giuliani’s counsel, alleging that they made a false claim about the previously filed motion in their request for an extension.

"While defendant claims to have filed ‘many’ motions concerning discovery, none appear on the docket, McAfee wrote. “Extensions are only considered upon filing of a particularized motion containing a detailed, fact-based explanation of the need for the extension including the amount of time needed. The motion is DENIED. All deadlines remain in place.”

He’s in a weird limbo but also not really. The disbarment procedures can take aaaaaaaages, but it’s a pretty foregone conclusion and he can’t do any lawyering until it’s concluded anyway. He’s de facto disbarred.

It’s like his law license is in jail, waiting until its sentencing happens to go to prison.

It’s entirely possible that the Special Counsel’s office actually does know exactly which tweets Trump sent. It’s not like Trump is good at infosec. He does the mob boss poo poo and doesn’t say poo poo, but he’s not exactly tech-savvy. They subpeonaed the hell out out of twitter and we live in a panopticon dystopia of technology, it’s not hard to tell what device did a thing and correlate that with whether or not the President had it.
