95% of your turns in low-level 2e D&D are "attack", even if you're a caster rtwp makes perfect sense in that context

It is funny how much the Owlcat RPGs cribbed from those games when you look at it (not complaining, they're all good features): the way you can loot in an AoE, the little in-text background fluff entries you can mouse over, a lot of the HUD elements, etc.

Random rear end Hitman note, lol how the private sector assassination agency not only is known about by the three letter agencies but they're among its best customers. The first proper mission in the trilogy is MI6 paying you to assassinate not-Ghislaine Maxwell and her husband.

Has anyone tried BG3's couch co-op? If it's worth it I'd rather play it with my partner than play it solo.

I think my ideal RPG combat system is probably a turn-based one with an autoresolve function for trash fights (if there must be trash fights). Despite its age, the Gold Box combat system works very well in this regard. I find the RTWP in the Infinity Engine games to be decent enough though.

My hot take is that Raphael's unique boss music is overrated btw. It's not nearly long enough for a big hard boss fight, meaning it repeats a lot, and his voiced part is spoken-word rather than sung That said though the game really nails making him scarier psychologically by having him and Korrilla and Hope and the Curator all repeatedly tell you how stupid you are for pissing him off and literally playing a laugh-track sound effect when you steal the Orphic Hammer. Your main thought going into the fight is "man I really hosed up by doing this". Even my second time doing the fight, knowing exactly what my strategy would be, the effect was still kind of there.

I just started nodding my head when it happened. Also it looped a lot for you? Skill issue

there's a mission in blood money where you have to assassinate a woman's fiance and father in law and it's heavily implied she's the client because there's a no killing her rule and there's a newspaper later with her living high in a casino with a himbo on each arm

hitman has a vr port but its apparently extremely garbage. been playing this vr only game, asgards wrath 2. it's totally a throwback to like, the xbox games that were all trying to capitalize on the success of the 3d zeldas. its pretty rad actually, swordfighting not-moblins and gathering mushrooms in the desert. the thing that makes it vr special, other than the combat, is the scale. everything's terrifyinly gigantic and your menu is basically gigantic gross old witch (the three and one, the three sisters of fate, the kindly ones, erinneys etc) hands showing you your inventory, and it took a bit for my brain to classify them as "safe". vr is really good for just triggering primal fear in this way, vr outer wilds is a loving terror trip and i havent even visited Dark Bramble yet

https://x.com/pcgamer/status/1744419860149342296?s=20 It's funny that Bethesda released this, then thought "Hmmm, maybe we should actually make a game instead of thousands of miles of nothing," with Morrowind.... and now is fully back to thousands of miles of nothing with Starfield.
